Since the death of the artist Joseph Reboli in 2004 there has been a search to find a suitable site for a unique art center that will feature the remarkable historical collection of paintings from this very popular 20th century artist. Located in the center of the village of Stony Brook on the banks of the Stony Brook Creek overlooking beautiful Stony Brook harbor, a historic brick structure built

in 1911 for the Bank of Suffolk County will become the Reboli Center for Art and History. The building, the only commercial building still standing in its original location in the village of Stony Brook, has many historical ties to the Reboli family and will offer to the community a beautiful setting for a new cultural organization. The establishment of the Reboli Center will provide public access to Reboli’s work and will provide artistic and historical programs for children and adults that will educate them about his art and its relationship to the Three Village community, Suffolk County, and Long Island. In addition, the Reboli Center will present the work of other contemporary artists and craftsmen, will display historical exhibits about Long Island, and will promote the study of classical painting and drawing on Long Island.

The Reboli Center is pleased to welcome our Feature Artisan of the Month for August 2026, Dennis Mannarino!

With a lifelong creative spirit and an eye for finding beauty in everyday life, Mannarino creates one-of-a-kind handmade clay pins that he affectionately describes as Wearable art for Humans. Sabine Hoskins is the Emerging Artist for July & August at The Reboli Center for Art & History! Hoskins is a Long Island based emerging watercolor artist whose work is inspired by the restorative power of creativity. She discovered painting as a way to relax and de-stress, and what began as a personal form of mindfulness has grown into a passion for creating art that invites others to pause and reflect.
Drawing inspiration from neurotherapy art while developing her own distinctive style, Sabine allows each painting to unfold intuitively. Through flowing watercolor, intricate patterns, and vibrant color, she creates expressive pieces that celebrate imagination, movement, and the calming nature of the creative process.

Mark your calendars for August's Third Friday at The Reboli Center with local historian, Beverly Tyler! On Friday, August 21st, 2026, Tyler will discuss how the timely warning by The Culper Spy Ring of a British attack on the French fleet's arrival in Newport, Rhode Island in 1780, helped General Washington on the road to victory during the Revolutionary War.
Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be available. Like always, our Third Friday's are free to the public and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Doors open at 6pm, we look forward to seeing you there!

Join us this evening for an inspiring Third Friday presentation featuring Brooklyn-based painter, interdisciplinary artist, and architect Maureen Shea!

During this engaging and educational presentation, Maureen will discuss her artistic journey, creative process, and the relationship between painting, architecture, and interdisciplinary exploration. Attendees will gain unique insight into how observation, place, and materiality influence her work, as well as the ways artists can transform everyday experiences into meaningful visual stories.

Complimentary snacks, pastries & refreshments will be served and doors will open no earlier than 6:00pm. The Reboli Center for Art and History is proud to present Sherry Berman as our Feature Artisan of the Month for June 2026 🌸🌿
Since childhood, Sherry has been drawn to making things by hand. Taught by her mother and grandmother to embroider, knit, and crochet, she developed an early appreciation for texture and process that would shape her lifelong creative journey.
Over the years, Sherry's artistic explorations have included needlepoint, batik, garment making, fabric embellishment, collage, interior design, and photography. Though largely self-taught, she has always been guided by curiosity and a desire to discover the medium that resonated most deeply with her artistic voice.
