Please do not buy plants that are treated with neonicotinoids!

Neonicotinoids, often called "neonics," are a widely used class of synthetic insecticides chemically similar to ni****ne. They are systemic pesticides, meaning they are absorbed by the plant and transported through its tissues, making everything from the roots to the nectar toxic to insects including honeybees. They act on the central nervous system of honeybees by binding to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, leading to overstimulation, paralysis, and death.

Just had to share my friend Ed Lock’s pics from his hive inspection today. He’s had these package bees since March 30th and they are doing great! This is his first time keeping bees on his own and I’m so excited for him! The bees have built comb and have beautiful capped brood (light color in the pics) with a circle of pollen on the left and some capped honey in the corners.
