Be safe if you're catching a glimpse of the Big Boy today!

⚠️🚂 Big Boy No. 4014 arrives tomorrow!

While many are expected in Ripley, some residents may choose to view the locomotive as it travels east through Chautauqua County toward Buffalo.

If you plan to watch from communities such as Westfield, Brocton, Dunkirk, Silver Creek, or elsewhere along the route:
✅ Stay on public property
✅ Remain well back from railroad tracks
✅ Never stand on or walk along the tracks
✅ Obey all railroad crossings and warning devices
✅ Supervise children closely
✅ Be alert for railroad operations at all times

Big Boy No. 4014 will be traveling north on the south track after departing Ripley. Let's work together to make this historic event memorable and safe for everyone.

It's the final month of our Dunkirk Women's History exhibit! Be sure to stop in during regular hours before June 30 and help us celebrate these amazing women who have done so much for our community.

Open to the public:
MWF: 9am-12pm
Sat: 10am-2pm
Other times by chance or appointment.
Please note we will be closed during the month of July.

Do you like to work with your hands? Our Railroad Display Preservation team is looking for new volunteers! Whether you are new to tools or an old pro, we need YOUR skills. From painting to welding to giving tours, we have a spot for you. We can even train you on site! Make new friends and learn new skills -- Volunteer at the Railroad Display for the Dunkirk Historical Museum!

Email, call, or stop by the Dunkirk Historical Museum's location at 513 Washington Avenue during regular open hours to sign up. Hours and days may vary but if you're ready to help, we will work with your schedule.
