CITY COMMISSION MEETING RECAP
During its June 4 Commission Meeting, 2026, meeting, Dunedin City Commission enacted the following:
• Proclaimed the 250th Anniversary of American Independence and had City Commissioners and elected officials signed the Declaration of Independence presented by the Dunedin History Museum in recognition of America's 250th year as an independent nation.
• Proclaimed June 2026 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Dunedin
• Recognized the 2026 Senior Hall of Fame Inductees Allen Kynes and Eric Houghton
• Boards & Committees
👉 Dunedin Causeway and Coastal Waterways Committee reappointed Hank Hodde as member
👉 Marina Advisory Committee reappointed Sharon Williams and Mike Rey as members
• Approved authorization for Sanitary Sewer Pine Lining to Vortex Services, LLC of Riverview, FL under the terms/conditions of the previously awarded contract in the amount of $44,479
• Approved First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement between Pinellas County and the NPDES MS4 Co-Permittees for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection annual regulatory program and surveillance fee in the amount of $1,452.47 for 2026 and duration of the agreement.
• Approved Fiscal Year 2026 second budget amendment approving expenditures the following funds with a net impact totally $1,826,258: General Fund $182,000 – replacement of carpet tiles in the Library, reclass $85,000 from the Aid to Private Organization to the Aid to Government Agency account for the Clearwater Ferry Project; Impact Fee Fund – increase capital budget from $80,000 to $138,000 and reclass the expenditure account for the purchase of a modular vehicle barrier system; Water/Wastewater Fund – Increase capital expense budget by $1,446,258 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant rehabilitation project; Marina Fund – Increase debt service expense budget by $43,000 for the storm line of credit; Stormwater Fund – Transfer $1,444,100 from the Gabion Repair & Maintenance project to the Ditch Maintenance Project; Risk Fund – Increase budget by $58,000 for the Rick Fund’s portion of the modular vehicle barrier system; IT Services Fund – Increase the capital equipment expense by $45,000 and the operating expense budget by $82,000 on the network infrastructure upgrades project, decrease the capital equipment budget by $50,000 on the Citywide Security Camera project and decrease the capital expense budget by $27,000 for the purchase of replacement network servers with a five-year-support contract resulting in a $50,000 decrease in net position; Increase capital expense budget by $47,000 for the City of Dunedin Commission Chambers wireless microphone system project. The purchase was not originally included in the FY 2026
• Approved application for the voluntary annexation, land use plan amendment and zoning district designation for property located at 1991 Spanish Pines Drive.
