It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of HDVI president Edward "Bret" Coulson. A fountain of knowledge regarding Dumfries and local history, Bret had served as an active member of the board of directors for nearly 10 years, serving as treasurer, vice president, and president at different points during that time. His dedication to community outreach, historical research, and fundraising has proven invaluable in the growth of Historic Dumfries VA and our understanding of the town's history, and he will be missed dearly. Bret's obituary and information regarding the upcoming funeral service this Friday can be viewed on the Miller Funeral Home webpage here: https://www.millerfuneralhome.net/obituaries/Edward-Coulson/ #!/Obituary
