**The Weems-Botts Museum Needs Your Help**
For more than 50 years, Historic Dumfries Virginia has preserved and shared the history of Virginia's oldest continuously chartered town through the Weems-Botts Museum.
This year, we were not awarded the **$50,000 Prince William County Community Partners Grant** that has helped support museum staffing, free school field trips, educational programs, Scouting merit badges, workshops for adults, and preservation of our historic collections.
While this loss presents a significant challenge, our mission remains unchanged. We are committed to keeping the museum open, educating future generations, and preserving Dumfries' remarkable history—but we need your support.

We have BABY BLUEBIRDS!! If you’ve ever attended one of our bird house workshops you know we have a bluebird house that we watch very carefully. The bluebirds hatched this week!! If you are in Merchant Park please be mindful of our bluebird house.

HDVI participated in The Town of Dumfries Juneteenth event!! Guests at our table made handkerchief dolls, contributed a square to our community quilt, and learned about black Americans who lived in Dumfries.

Due to a plumbing issue in the Jeff Simpson Community Center, the spinning wheel workshop has been moved to the Weems-Botts Annex (3944 Cameron Street, Dumfries, VA).
