Dubuque’s Premier Public Art Program

Art on the River is Dubuque’s annual premier public art display at the Port of Dubuque. Each year, new artworks by talented artists are selected to enhance the Mississippi Riverwalk.

This year’s theme, The Mississippi Magnified, focuses on artists and artwork that draw inspiration from the people, culture, beauty, and magnitude of the mighty Mississippi River. Selected artists receive a stipend from the City of Dubuque for exhibiting their sculpture for the year. All of the artwork is for sale, with a portion of sales supporting the continuation of the program, and will be on display until the summer of 2020.

Art on the River is a program presided over by the Dubuque Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission.
