Preserving art isn't just about protecting the past it's about making sure it has a future. In September 2024, conservators restoring the famous "Rainbow Portrait" of Queen Elizabeth I uncovered hidden discoveries beneath the surface, proof that caring for a piece can reveal as much as it protects.

That same spirit of care is behind the scenes here at WMA and it's front and center this month.

Still on view: B26: Wiregrass Biennial, through September 19.

Also closing September 19: Within These Walls: Select Works from WMA's Studio Artists

And running through January 2, 2027: Shaped by Hand: Sculpture from the WMA Collection.

September at WMA is full of reasons to come through. Visit www.wiregrassmuseum.org for full details. We hope to see you.
