Bernard Historical Museum

Bernard Historical Museum Our mission is the collection, preservation, & presentation of the history of Barry County, Michigan. We are always looking for volunteers.

Started in the 1960's, the Bernard Historical Society & Museum survives today because of local volunteers and the charitable contributions of the community at large. We are Barry County's largest repository of historical artifacts and family histories. We are open from June 1 to September 30th, Saturdays, 1-5 pm but are subject to change depending on availability of volunteer staffing. Contact us if you are interested!

The Bernard Museum is open Saturday, August 8, 2026, (1 PM - 5 PM). Tours are free! Bring the family and explore the one-room schoolhouse with treasures such as the Motorola TV (perfect for watching the Big Game!), and more vintage typewriters (the one is "portable"). We have a vintage braille typewriter too. See you Saturday at the museum!
