Currently on View in the Front Gallery: 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, Resident Artists Group Exhibition

𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 is a celebration of the work our Resident Artists have created within the artist studios at Arts Warehouse. With the temporary closing of the studios in early this year, Residents found themselves creating differently and in new locations, and returned to the studios with an updated perspective in this time of transition.

Artist Dominique Denis (Dominique Denis) creates work where themes of identity, transformation, and domesticity converge. 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦 is an immersive installation where repurposed garments and jewelry are recontextualized into sculptural elements that reveals a spatial and emotional landscape.

Currently on View in the East Gallery | 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭: 𝘍𝘈𝘜 𝘔𝘍𝘈 𝘊𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦, curated by Sarah E. Huang (Sarah E. Huang (黄秀慧))

𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 refers to the small, narrow gaps between things; it is the interstices that occur between objects or time periods. As the students meet the halfway point in the MFA program, exhibiting together allows the significance of “betweenness” to be displayed in each artists’ distinct practice.

The work of artist Hye Young An (Hye Young An (Helena) ) is rooted in the interaction between observation, recording and material exploration. The artist collects experiences and moments in small notebooks, which allows her to notice how ordinary situations become images and how visual language can communicate what words cannot fully express.

Mini artist talk with Resident Artists, Marianela Perez.

A 30-second look at Marianela’s paintings inspired by memories, and how her work has changed from sharp geometric forms to reflect these new “atmospheres”.

Join us and all of the Resident Artists for a group Gallery Q&A during Open Studio Night on 11/12 at 6pm! This annual event is a perfect time to get to know the artists a bit better as they create live and have studio sales. In conjunction with the current exhibition, “Endings to Beginnings”.

Lilian Ried Miller (Lilian Ried Miller) reveres the mangroves as a place for connection and belonging. By portraying mangroves in both painting and sculpture, Reid Miller contemplates this environment as a sanctuary that protects the countless species, and highlights their importance as the planets’ most effective natural barriers against the devastating nature of hurricanes and tropical storms.

The abstracted human figure serves as the central focus of Lisa’s work, rendered as layered, molecular-like forms shaped by extensive research into the mind–body connection. Grounded in biology and psychology, the artist explores how the human body stores and reveals emotional history.
