Kinders are having a name party, filled with colors, shapes and lines. They will add warm or cool watercolor.
First grade will make silly, warm birds on cool backgrounds.
Second are making warm aquatic animals - turtles, fish and jellyfish.
Third are making land animals - llamas, ostriches, and bears.
Fourth will make black notan positive/negative shapes to show off the warm/cool colors.
And fifth will make a paper weaving with their papers.
Our next unit will be on Hispanic Heritage.

Welcome back to another COLOR-FULL year at Woodmeade! We have stared off the year learning about color, rainbow order, primary/secondary colors and Warm & Cool colors!
Each grade levels has its own project created on top of a kinetic crayon drawing - - Whaaat?!

On top of that we learned about warm & cool colors and painted over the crayon.

5th grade Fairy Houses with little tea lights in them! We finally finished our painting and a gloss spray so they could take them home today. They also took home their 4th& 5th grade Kehinde Wiley portraits today!!

My Donors Choose friends! Back in August I wrote for some cardboard tools (safe saw, “scrus”, “scru” driver, hole maker, and a perforating roller for folds.) Last month 2nd and 3rd graders we learned how to use the tools safely and correctly making small things. It’s important for them to know how to use tools. It was all leading up to a big, BIG project which 3rd graders have made - making a dragon from recycled cardboard. Well - we’re almost done!! When complete the dragon will be over sixteen feet, have wings, and scales! I can’t wait to see it all put together!!
