DHS will have a booth at Art on the Lawn tomorrow. Come see a small sampling of treasures from our collection. We will also be giving away past years’ holiday ornaments, jigsaw puzzles and some other merchandise to those who donate to our Raise the Roof Campaign. Hope to see you there!

30 years of art, music, and community!

Art on the Lawn returns September 26–27 for its 30th year at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History. Come enjoy a free weekend celebrating creativity, local talent, and the community we love.

Explore paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry, and more from local and regional artists. With live music, food vendors, and plenty to discover, there’s a little something for everyone.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the lawn!

The organization’s membership and community engagement stalled years ago; a handful of members are working to change that.

You have the opportunity to preserve Danville's history.

For over fifty years, the Danville Historical Society has safeguarded some of our city’s most unique and incredible stories. Now, we are seeking your help so we can protect your history for another fifty years.

Our historic building’s roof must be replaced — a project estimated at $60,000. Coincidentally, that’s about the same as Danville’s population. If every resident contributes just $1, together we can preserve the treasures of Danville for generations to come.

To support our Raise the Roof Campaign, please click on this link https://givebutter.com/danvillehistory_raise-the-roof or scan the QR code below.

The Historical Society serves as the steward of thousands of irreplaceable paper records, photographs, film, and archival materials that document our community's rich history. These items are highly vulnerable to damage from heat, humidity, light exposure, and the natural effects of aging. Through professional cataloging, digitization, and preservation efforts, we can protect these fragile collections while making them accessible to researchers, students, and the public for generations to come.

Your support ensures that the artifacts, memories, and milestones that define our community remain safe under one roof — the roof you helped raise.
