Over 50 Native American nations called Texas home long before Europeans arrived. In the Texas Independence Trail Region, the Comanche, Apache, Karankawa, and Coahuiltecan peoples were among the most prominent.

Learn more about these tribes through various museums in the region, but this highlight comes from the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum in downtown Cuero!
