A look back at our placement, ‘A Wild Growth’ which found its way from Amy’s studio garden in Victoria, Australia, to this SoCal home, where it brings warmth, movement, and a touch of the outdoors to its new surroundings.

I love when nature and art, isn’t overly manicured. There’s something comforting about the untamed beauty of this work, inspired by her overgrown garden where plants thrive beyond their boundaries. The layers of acrylic, oil, and dry pastel capture the rhythm of life in transition—autumn’s gentle decay, winter’s stark lines, and the quiet promise of new growth. It’s a painting that feels alive.

Art fairs are a bit like drinking from a fire hose and a hugely valuable part of what I do.

So much of the work happens here — walking fairs for hours, seeing work in person, tracking which artists are gaining momentum, understanding quality and pricing, building relationships with galleries, and paying attention to how artists evolve over time.

Different fairs serve different purposes. Some are great for identifying emerging talent, while others are where galleries bring major presentations from mid-career and blue-chip artists.

It’s inspiring & but one of my favorite parts of the job.

In honor of ’s sold-out solo show, we’re sharing a few works we’ve placed over the years, along with two hand-painted ceramic plates we were lucky to snag from “In the Spirit World” on view .

If you’ve ever wanted to step into a painting and stay awhile, this is it. Somewhere between an elegant dinner party and a dream, her layered compositions and familiar, recurring figures unfold like stories in motion.

Gisela Colón’s work captivated me the first time I saw it. It stretched my mind and created a sense of visual intrigue. Her sculptures have a powerful presence, yet feel simultaneously calm and meditative.

Sometimes I come across a piece or discover an artist and I don’t yet know who it’s for. Rather than actively searching, I’m observing, taking mental notes, learning, following along… and then, at some point, it becomes clear.

When I presented this work to my client, she shared that it made her think of her father, bringing her back to childhood memories of growing up around NASA, watching launches, and his work as a doctor in that world.

Colón uses aerospace-grade materials and what she calls “structural color,” where the work may appear pigmented, but the color actually emerges through light interacting with the material rather than applied paint. Her works are activated by their environment, shifting with light, space, and movement, so the experience is never fixed.
