The Clerk of Circuit Court was established as a public trustee by the Florida Constitution in 1838. The Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as the Clerk of Courts, the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, Auditor, Recorder, and Custodian of all County Funds. In Manatee County, the Clerk’s office also administers a local child support enforcement program, violence protection advocacy program, Manatee Teen Court, and the preservation of historical resources through its historical resources department. As a reminder, FMM members with the NARM level of membership can get into the Bishop for free if they bring their membership card to the museum. FMM will be joining with the Manatee County Agricultural Museum on June 11th from 9am-noon for FREE family programming. This drop-in programming day is designed for families with pre-K to elementary aged children to have fun and learn together. Children cannot be left unattended. No reservations are required, but entry will be limited at the door once capacity is met—first come, first served!

This specimen looks a bit like a sugar cookie. This little sea star's scientific name is Pawsonaster parvus. It lives about 30-600 meters (or about 98-1,968ft) below the surface. This sea star is just shy of 1.75in wide. It is part of our Captain Blake Banks collection.

Need some dinner inspo? FMM’s got you covered! Check out this full three-course meal, handpicked from “What’s Cooking in Cortez?” a community cookbook from 1990. Start off with a savory smoked mullet spread as an appetizer, enjoy a delicious hamburger bake with a side of corn bread, and for the cherry on top, test out the “Impossible Cherry Pie.” If you try one of these recipes post a picture and tag us so we can give your meal the final seal of approval.
