It's so nice that after 54 years that Lichtenstein's sold to Manhattan Industries and 49 years that the Lichtenstein name was changed to Frost Bros.,its name has remained ever-so present to many people.
This one page feature has William "Bill"Jue
Owner of Williams Fashion Shoes who was associated with Lichtenstein's having worked in the leased shoe department in the store. His store has operated for 40 plus years located in The Village.
The Cosmopolitan Apartments is what was constructed on the site of the former department store that has a slight resemblance to the art deco Lichtenstein building.
The article gives a brief summary of the stores history, the only correction is that the store opened to the public a week before the attacks on Pearl Harbor. And also mentions a decline in operations under the Lichtenstein name, which was not case since its primary reason for selling to Manhattan Industries was primarily due to the death of Morris L. Lichtenstein Sr. In 1970.
Long live the legacy of the department store family that made a name for its method of operation both with its employees and it's many fine customers from near and far.

In 1949 Lichtenstein's commissioned Vernon Kilns Co to make these commemorative plates for their 75th anniversary in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. They feature points of interest and an aerial of the business district, they were made in blue and this burgundy color as well. They also had another plate with the stores locations. It is nice to see that 77 years later these plates are still spotted at antique shops and look great.
