The Iowa Children’s Museum is looking for enthusiastic kids and grown-ups to join our photo & video shoot on a no-school day (Monday, Sept. 21, from 4–6 PM)!

We’ll capture families having fun and chat with participants about what they love most about the museum. We’re especially hoping to feature elementary-aged kids (6–12) and the wonderful diversity of our community. 💜

We’re grateful to Johnson County, Iowa for investing in opportunities that help local families learn, play, and connect. Most recently, support through the Johnson County Quality of Life Grant Program is helping us expand our Cultural Collaborations initiative, working alongside local cultural organizations, artists, educators, and community members to create hands-on experiences both at the museum and throughout Johnson County.

In addition, Johnson County Elections joined us for our recent "We, the Kids" programming to help children explore voting and civic participation through play. Johnson County is helping us create meaningful learning experiences for families across our community. Thank you for being a Partner in Play! 💜

Our Refresh & Reset week is almost here! 🧽🪣🧹

From Monday, August 31st through Friday, September 4th, we will be closed as we take a short break to clean, organize, and make a few behind-the-scenes updates so everything is ready for more hands-on fun! 💚

Sydney has been working with us since September of 2024 and she has been such an outstanding part of our team as both a PLAYologist and an Education Assistant! She has been a great support for our "We The Kids" series, we want to take a moment to highlight her. 💜

- I make music and horseback ride 🎶🐴
⭐ Most memorable or favorite experience you've had at the museum?
- I have loved getting to work on the We The Kids campaign! It focuses on civic literacy, community involvement, and empowering youth voices!
⭐ A fun fact about you?
- I’m bilingual! I know English and American Sign Language!

Looks like we had a dino-mite time at the museum last week! 💚

We had a prehistoric pal stop by to make some new friends, and add a little extra ROAR to the day! 🦖

Come get the wiggles out before our closure week (Mon, Aug 31- Fri, Sept 4)! We're open today through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM!
