The Iowa Children's Museum is a family attraction for hands-on, minds-on fun. Interactive exhibits, inspire all children to imagine, create, discover and explore through the Power of PLAY. Admission is $9 per person ages 1-59, 60+ is $8 and children under 1 are free. Membership options are available at theicm.org/memberships.

We had so much fun this weekend during our first Art Play Sunday! 🎨

This months theme has been Cardboard Creations. During the event this weekend kids got to make their own Mech Box and participate in other cardboard theme challenges!

As comes to a close, we're celebrating today's theme: Museums Are Essential. 💜

At The Iowa Children's Museum, we reflected on one simple prompt: "Our museum matters because..." The answers that came to us remind us that museums are more than places to visit; they're places where curiosity grows and families connect. 💚

Our Nature Explorers Summer Camp still has limited spots!! 🌿

Kids will discover the wonders of nature through hands-on activities, animal encounters, nature-themed crafts and games, local fossils and rocks, and even a chance to feed Peter the turtle! We're also planning a special visit from Diventures to explore turtles and other aquatic creatures.

Museums Are Community! 💜💚

Museums bring people together through shared experiences, learning, and play. We're grateful for community partners like Johnson County Elections, who help create meaningful opportunities for children to explore the world around them.

This Saturday, June 13th, from 9 AM to noon, families can meet local election officials and cast a ballot in our mock election for the Mayor of CityWorks, making learning hands-on, fun, and memorable. 🗳
