Honor a Hero at Georgetown’s Field of Honor! 🇺🇸 Purchase and dedicate a full-size American flag in honor of a veteran, active-duty or reserve military member, or first responder. You may also purchase an Adopt-a-Hero flag to be presented through the service branch or organization you select. Each flag will fly among more than 2,000 American flags at San Gabriel Park during Georgetown’s Field of Honor: November 7–15, 2026 at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, Texas.

The National Mounted Warrior Museum is hosting the Western Battles Group, part of the Texas Armor Association, on Saturday, Sept 19, 2026, from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Watch or join in as the group’s 1/16th scaled model tanks duke it out through the streets of a reproduction town. With plenty to see, do, and learn, it will be a great day for a head-to-head tank battle at the museum!
Free to the public; no military ID or installation pass required!

Fireworks tonight. Hometown heroes in November.

The Killeen Hometown Heroes Banner Program is back for 2026. In partnership with the National Mounted Warfare Foundation, we honor local veterans by displaying commemorative banners throughout Historic Downtown Killeen during the month of November in recognition of Veterans Day.

It's free to honor your hero, but space is limited to just 60 banners. Submissions are open through Sept. 11 or until filled.
