Progress is being made, and we keep moving forward! Our amazing volunteers are repairing washouts, removing brake valves, tearing out wet walls and mold, and creating a kitchen area to keep everyone fueled.

One project at a time, we’re cleaning up, rebuilding, and getting closer to recovery. Thank you to everyone pitching in!

🚂 Progress Worth Celebrating! 💪

Our shop crew has been working hard to get things moving again, and we’re excited to share a major milestone!

The jacks that were submerged under flood water have been repaired and are back in service. That means we can now safely lower Locomotive 25 and raise other pieces of equipment so we can clean, inspect, and assess the flood damage.

It’s a big step forward—and a testament to the skill, determination, and teamwork of our shop crew. We’re proud of the progress they’ve made and grateful for everyone who has helped us get to this point.

One step at a time, we’re getting back on track! 🚂🔧💪

We had an incredible 80 individuals show up to volunteer last weekend—thank you to everyone who came out! But there’s still a LOT to do, and we need more helping hands this weekend.

📍 Meet at: 300 S. Eastern Ave, Connersville, IN 47331
🕘 9:00 AM — Saturday or Sunday

All skill and experience levels are welcome! There’s something for everyone, including:

🔨 Demolition
⚙️ Mechanical equipment cleaning
🚂 Coach and caboose cleaning
🧹 Debris pickup
🚗 Automotive work
🛤️ Track work

Please bring your own PPE: masks, eye protection, gloves, and boots. We have plenty of cleaning supplies available. And be sure to wear clothing you expect to get dirty!

Whether you can spend a few hours or the whole day, your help makes a difference as we continue this important work.
