🚂🔧 While our operating season kicked off the first weekend of May, the work behind the scenes never slows down.

Since February, our shop crew has been hard at work tackling a busy maintenance season. After completing locomotive inspections, attention has now shifted to our coach and caboose fleet, starting with some major restoration work on Coach No. 6.

The south vestibule had significant rust damage, so the team began by removing the deck plating to inspect the structure underneath. From there, damaged metal will be removed, remaining steel cleaned and painted, and new steel will be installed before finishing it off with brand-new deck plating.

Coach No. 6 will also receive:
✔️ Rebuilt brake valves
✔️ New roof coating
✔️ Four new steps
✔️ Additional repairs from our ever-growing to-do list

This kind of heavy maintenance is what keeps our historic passenger cars safely rolling down the rails as they approach 100 years of service. 🚃
