Stop by and say hello at National Night Out (Concord) tomorrow from 5-8pm at Rollins Park (33 Bow Street, Concord, NH 03301) ✨

Bring the whole family down and be part of this community event! There is no cost to enter. Parking is free at Rundlett Middle School with complimentary shuttle service to the park. This year’s festivities will include music, police and fire equipment, K9 demonstrations, touch-a-truck, and so much more! The Discovery Center’s astronaut mascot will be there for a photo op, and as always, we’ll be hosting an all-ages educational activity!

Today, we join our community in mourning the passing of Robert Veilleux.

Bob's passion for science, education, and inspiring others made a lasting impact on countless lives. We are grateful for the role he played in advancing our mission and helping others discover the wonder of exploration and learning.

Our thoughts are with their family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

"In 1985 he was selected by NASA as one of New Hampshire’s two finalists for the Teacher in Space Program alongside Christa McAuliffe. After witnessing the heartbreaking Challenger tragedy from The Kennedy Space Center he dedicated himself to honoring the loss of the crew. He spent decades championing science and STEM education, ensuring that the dream of space exploration remained alive in the hearts of his students and community. He will be remembered as a teacher who truly aimed for the stars."

We're just over a couple of weeks away from August's Super Stellar Friday and this one is for star-gazers of all ages! 🔭

Join us at the Discovery Center on Friday, August 7th from 6:30-9:30pm! Our special guest presenter is Jenny Powers, the Director of Science for the Springfield Museums in Springfield, MA. Looking back to Hubble, focusing on the James Webb Space Telescope, and looking forward to images from the Nancy Grace Roman, Jenny will discuss how space telescopes have changed, expanded what we know about space, and taken us back in time.

As always, the presentation is followed by a planetarium show, and star-gazing with New Hampshire Astronomical Society if the weather allows it!
