Here is a model of the Blackistone Lighthouse Bell tower, handcrafted by Carl Kopel in the 1980s. The lighthouse tower bell once stood next to the original lighthouse on Blackistone Island in Colton’s Point, Maryland, now called St. Clement’s Island. The bell was used to guide ships when the lighthouse tower light was not visible during dense fog or heavy rain. Carl Kopel jointly owned Colton’s Point Marina with his brother, Robert Kopel. In Carl’s spare time, he enjoyed building models like this tower and boat models. The model was donated by Carl Kopel.

Here is a pamphlet about the Charlotte Hall Schoolhouse, created in 1992 by the staff here at St. Clement’s Island Museum. The schoolhouse was moved to the museum campus in 1992 after being donated by the Fowler Family following the passing of their father, Henry Fowler. A former student of the school, Fowler had purchased the building for $5 from the St. Mary’s County Schools when they planned to demolish it. The pamphlet was donated by Adam Cropper.
