A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by the Colonial Beach Historical Society & Museum last night during the 2nd Friday Art Walk! It was wonderful to welcome so many visitors and to be one of the best spots in town to enjoy both the Art Walk and the Fireman’s Parade.

A special thank you goes to our talented high school art students whose incredible artwork filled the museum with creativity, color, and inspiration. Your hard work and artistic vision made the evening truly special and gave our guests an unforgettable experience.

We are grateful to everyone who came out to support our young artists, our museum, and our community. We look forward to seeing you again at future events!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Gardening Like George Washington: Colonial Composting & Garden Hacks for Today presented by The Colonial Beach Historical Society & Museum on May 6th.

We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Patricia Neleski — Master Composter, Garden Historian, and National Park Service Volunteer Garden Interpreter — for an engaging and inspiring lecture exploring colonial-era gardening wisdom and how these timeless techniques can still benefit gardeners today.

From composting practices used in George Washington’s time to practical garden hacks for modern living, Patricia shared fascinating insights that connected history, sustainability, and everyday gardening in such a memorable way.

We are grateful to all who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and helped make the evening such a success. Your enthusiasm and support continue to help us bring educational and community-centered programs to Colonial Beach.

A special thank you to Patricia Neleski for sharing her expertise, passion, and love of history with us.
