Museum Director Erin spent time in September at the American Association of State and Local History's annual conference in Providence, Rhode Island. She had a great time learning about how other small museum are doing the work of Revolution.

Scroll for pictures that slowly she took that slowly and get more unhinged. Museum people take weird photos!

It's so we jumped into the collections and found this Coffee Mill!

The style is known as a 'double decker' mill and it comes to us from Gurine Nilsen. Gurine was the first secretary of the Museum in addition to her other roles as painter and teacher. You may have seen Gurine's floral paintings on display at the Museum as they occasionally make an appearance in the Temporary Gallery.

For our eagle-eyed friends, take a look toward the back of the grinder. That entire back corner is charred because Gurine passed this along to us, it was displayed on a fireplace mantel where it got a little too hot 🔥 🔥 🔥

How do you take your coffee? With or without additional fireplace essence 😉?
