Concert starts at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 29th. There will be a reception to follow at the Clermont Opera House.

Matthew played a concert last year and he did such an incredible job we had to ask him back to do a special concert to commemorate Montauk's 150th.

Apparently, today is World Beard Day so we thought we would showcase some of William Larrabee's facial hair throughout his years. While we acknowledge his stately beard through most of his life, we have to say, we really appreciate the epic mustache he sported in his later years. 😅

The Clermont Museum is also open today from 12-4, stop in and say "hi" to Hannah! This will be the last regular day the Museum will be open this season.

HELP NEEDED: Does anyone have (or can point us in the right direction of someone who does) a boom lift that Montauk could borrow? We need to assess some damage to our upper front porch and take off a couple storm windows up there to repair. Thanks!

Performance starts at 2:00 pm at the Union Sunday School at 406 Larrabee Street, Clermont. Free will donations.

Light reception to follow at the Clermont Opera House sponsored by the Clermont Historical Society.

Join us for a fun musical theater performance at the Union Sunday School directed by Janet Schlapkohl. 1876 Presidential Candidates Rutherford B. Hayes and Samuel Tilden have accepted an invitation to this song-fest and will be there to give short speeches. No rotten vegetables allowed inside and the sheriff will be present to stop riotous behavior!

The Clermont Museum will be open for regular hours this weekend, with a special guest on Friday and Saturday.

Shane Christen, a Civil War reenactor who has participated in Civil War Reenactments in Clermont in the past, will be at the Clermont Museum on Friday, July 5, at 3:00 and Saturday, July 6, 2024, after the parade. Mr. Christen will have Civil War fi****ms and tools to display from his collection, and other Civil War artifacts will be available.

The Clermont Museum and Clermont Masonic Lodge AF&AM #160 are hosting a Civil War presentation on July 5th and 6th.

Shane Christen, a Civil War reenactor who has participated in Civil War Reenactments in Clermont in the past, will be at the Clermont Museum on July 5th from around 3-6 and July 6th from around 12-4.

Mr. Christen will be representing a solider from the 3rd Iowa Infantry Regiment of Fayette County. He will have Civil War fi****ms and tools to display from his collection.

Happy World Bicyling Day!

Here is a fun photo of two unknown women riding their bikes down Mill Street in town. The brick building on the left still stands today at 207 Mill Street. At the time this photo was taken the building was a dry goods and grocery store. The building next to it was a restaurant and bakery. The building farthest on the right was a millinery shop (a place that makes and sells women's hats).

Montauk is 150 years old this year! We have moved things around in the house, have a new exhibit in the barn, have a new interactive exhibit in the carriage house, rearranged the historic workshop, and put up some new dresses in the house.

We are having special History Talks throughout the summer, some fun organ concerts are planned, and we are wrapping it up on September 28th for a birthday bash!

We are open daily from 12:00-4:00, come see us this summer!
