We’re heading into the final week of Mike Holsomback’s solo exhibition at The 109 Gallery. A huge thank you to everyone who has visited, shared the show, and especially to those who have taken a piece home. There are only a few paintings still available!

Join us for the Closing Reception, Saturday, September 5, 6–8 PM, for one last evening with the work, special refreshments, and curated complimentary cocktails + mocktails. 🍸

Come spend some time with Mike Holsomback’s One Monkey Don’t Stop the Show before we head into the exhibition’s final week.

Gallery Hours This Weekend
Saturday, Aug. 29 | 11 AM–4 PM
Sunday, Aug. 30 | 11 AM–3 PM

Then, next weekend, we’re sending this incredible exhibition out with two evenings at the gallery:

✦ FIRST FRIDAY, SEPT. 4 | 5–8 PM
An evening viewing, complimentary curated refreshments, and one of your final chances to experience the exhibition.

✦ CLOSING RECEPTION, SEPT. 5 | 6–8 PM
Join us as we raise a glass to Mike, this wonderful run, and an exhibition that is now nearly sold out.

For collectors: Artwork pickup begins Saturday evening following the Closing Reception and continues Sunday through Tuesday, Sept. 8.

FIRST FRIDAY at The 109 Gallery ✦ SEPTEMBER 4

Join us 5–8 PM this First Friday for one of the final opportunities to spend time with Mike Holsomback’s solo exhibition, One Monkey Don’t Stop the Show.

It has been an incredible run, and with the exhibition almost entirely sold out, we’re especially grateful to everyone who has come through, spent time with the work, shared stories, and taken a piece home.

Come by Friday for an evening viewing with complimentary curated refreshments, and a last look at the paintings and works on paper shaped by humor, memory, theater, and the strange familiarity of everyday life.

Then join us once more for the Closing Reception, Saturday, September 5, 6–8 PM, as we raise a glass and give the exhibition a proper farewell.

A little gallery check-in from Italy 🇮🇹 while Mike Holsomback’s One Monkey Don’t Stop the Show continues at The 109.

Mike’s exhibition is full of the humor, curiosity, layered storytelling, and unexpected turns that have made his work, and his influence as an artist and longtime educator, such an important part of our region. If you haven’t spent time with it yet, there’s still time.

I’m incredibly thankful to our gallery community and family for keeping the doors open while I stepped away for a rare opportunity to join fellow artists in Living in the Play: Nido V, an international artist residency in Monte Castello di Vibio, Umbria, culminating in an exhibition of work developed here.

What a beautiful evening.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening reception of ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP THE SHOW. It was a joy to welcome so many familiar faces alongside new friends, former students, fellow artists, collectors, and members of our community to celebrate the work and enduring legacy of Mike Holsomback.

The conversations, laughter, reunions, and time spent with the artwork made for a truly memorable evening. Thank you to Mike for sharing this remarkable body of work, and to everyone who came to experience it together.

The exhibition remains on view through September 8. We hope you'll return, bring a friend, and spend more time with these extraordinary paintings and works on paper.

Tonight we have the great honor of opening ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP THE SHOW, a solo exhibition by Mike Holsomback.

For more than three decades, Mike has shaped our region's artistic landscape as both an accomplished painter and a beloved educator, mentor, and inspiration to generations of artists. We are proud to celebrate this remarkable chapter of his practice with an evening dedicated to the work, the conversations it invites, and the community it has helped cultivate.

To mark the occasion, my mom has prepared a complimentary selection of thoughtfully curated flavors and signature cocktails, each inspired by the exhibition and the spirit of the evening.

Join us in celebrating an artist whose work continues to surprise, challenge, and delight.

A significant voice in our region’s arts community, Holsomback brings more than three decades of painting, exhibition, and arts education to a body of work alive with bold color, visual myth, shifting narratives, and curious characters.
