Addington Gallery, Inc is participating in this Friday night's River North Gallery Walk, featuring the amazing Joan Holleb's paintings on copper. 5-8pm. The artist will be present.
We will also be featuring new work by Buddy Plumlee , Misha Goro , Jeff Hirst, Robin Denevan and Paula Blackwell.

It’s EXPO weekend in Chicago and we're celebrating in River North with a gallery walk from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m THIS SATURDAY. Addington Gallery, Inc is hosting a 3:00 p.m. artist talk with Teresa James Whitewingspress AND Deborah Maris Lader at 3pm on Saturday! We are showing printmaking-adjacent, one-of-a-kind mixed media work by both in the gallery, at 704 N Wells in River North. This Saturday March 14th, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Addington Gallery will be participating in the River North gallery walk. We are opening a fantastic new exhibition, "Learn to Love", new mixed media work by Teresa James. We hope you can join us. Meet The artist, refreshments served! While still referencing the materials and techniques of her printmaking background, Teresa's current works are the result of a variety of techniques. She begins by adapting and repurposing historic impressions of maps, animals, and nature, layering and collaging them onto a variety of vintage book covers. The resulting geometric compositions provide a weathered, narritive field, a dimensional receptive site for her imagined, hand drawn figurative imagery.

You are invited to an artist talk we are holding at Addington Gallery on Saturday, October 25, 4 PM. Artist Misha Goro will discuss his current exhibition and gallery artist Jeff Hirst will talk about his residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Co Mayo, Ireland. Hirst will debut new works on view fresh from the residency, and Goro will be showing two new large pieces not yet shown to the public. This is free and open to all. Tomorrow, Friday night , Oct 3 6-9 pm is the opening night of ANDERSONVILLE ARTS WEEKEND. This year we have curated a very striking exhibition at First Free Church on Ashland and Berwyn featuring the powerful yet delicate paintings of Ellen Holtzblatt. The exhibition is titled Song of Songs, and it features 18 very moving paintings. The opening reception is from 6 to 9 pm. The artist will be present. Addington Gallery, Inc is tremendously excited to be hosting a powerful exhibition of new paintings on aluminum by Chicago artist Misha Goro. Public reception is this Friday Sept 12 5-8pm, the artist will be present, refreshments will be served, and YOU are invited! These striking works speak with authority and commitment about the urban experience. Misha eschews the attractive landmarks, and gets down under the tracks, on the bridges, over the gutters, through the traffic. The paintings emerge from an authentic, lived experience and are shaped by an acute understanding of light, space, and atmosphere. I once heard an artist describe these works as "paintings with velocity". You see it on the surface: paint applied with squeegees, old credit cards, rollers, and rags by a hand that is both assured and always seeking. Addington Gallery, 704 N Wells, Chicago.
