I remember sneaking glimpses of my father's medical illustrations tucked away in a small book hidden in his drawers when I was around 12 years old. Even then, I was already experimenting with oils, despite having no formal training since I was just in junior high school. Over time, I've witnessed firsthand the resilience embodied by the human heart. To me, the heart transcends its physical form and becomes almost like a sentient being—an entity you can converse with, ask questions to. Yet, despite its iconic status, the heart is merely a valve, not the originator of our feelings and emotions. So why do we persist in attributing such significance to it? The heart, in its essence, is a trickster. It has the power to captivate another heart, to whisk it away like a thief in the night.
