CENTENNARIAN LEONARD ALEXANDER (foreground) and family who showed up to help him install the beautiful step he built to get into the Dining Car. Thank you all! It is just perfect. Leonard is not only still a master of fabrication, but of design as well. A great job! 10/2/26.

FOAMER FANNIG Train crews call the fans who follow them with cameras and tripods, 'foamers'. Dave Pierce of Chester Railway Station has been shooting trains from this platform for over 30 years. This photo represents a reversal of the norm, as it was taken FROM a train, 448, The Lakeshore Limited. Shot by friends of the Station and serial caboose campers returning from Montana on 9/24/26.

ALMOST LIKE WE KNOW WHAT WE"RE DOING. We placed the first of three approximately 1,300 lb granite slabs donated by Williams Stone of Otis, MA that will support an entrance stairway to our recently acquired Pullman dining car. We moved the slab into place with pipe rollers and rock bars, with the help of an enthusiastic museum visitor and straps on a Chevy truck. Pulled it off without so much as a pinched finger. Two to go. Stay tuned...

HAD A LOVELY VISIT with the church group, OWLEs (Older Wiser Lutherans and Episcopalians) on 9/11/26. They toured the Station, Dining Car, Children's Boxcar and Wooden Caboose. Also, heard the tale of the World's First Mountain Railroad, The Western RR, built right here through Chester. They were very pleased to have come.
