✈️ Opened originally as United Airport in 1930, the airfield was built to handle early transcontinental air traffic and remains one of the original aviation hubs in the Los Angeles area. Over the decades, it has operated under several names, including Bob Hope Airport, before cementing its identity as Hollywood Burbank Airport. Hollywood Burbank Airport

Widely considered Los Angeles’ “secret” or best-kept-secret airport because it is compact, easy to navigate, and dramatically cuts down on TSA wait times and walking distances compared to larger international terminals.

This area of the airport will be closing on October 12 to make way for a brand new terminal. The building is scheduled to be demolished to make way for a larger runway.

New Terminal will commence operation on October 13.

Introducing Movies at VNY, a new outdoor movie series at Van Nuys Airport in collaboration with My Valley Pass. Join us on October 16-17 for a spooky double feature of Casper, Poltergeist, Mars Attacks and Beetlejuice as part of our Halloween programming. Purchase tickets for one film—or make it a full night of movie magic with both!

Enjoy state-of-the-art projection and sound in a unique setting overlooking the airport’s historic, active runway. Chairs are not provided, so bring your favorite chair and a cozy blanket. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arrive early to enjoy music, raffle giveaways, and more, and grab dinner from the food trucks before the movies begin.

🍕 Lido Pizza (Van Nuys) - This popular New York style pizza joint has been open for over 50 years. The interior is a flashback to the 70’s, frequented by a diverse clientele. Fresh, high quality pizza toppings and home-made pasta keep customers addicted. Taken over from a family member in the 1960 by Frank Paul Miccolis, a Brooklyn transplant who started the Chi-Chis Pizza chain in 1958 out of Panorama City, this restaurant was his second location and is still part of the Chi-Chis family.

The original sign from 1956 still stands proudly on Victory Blvd.

🎸- In 1959 Chuck Berry introduced Ritchie Valens as part of a movie called Go, Johnny, Go! In this rare footage we see Ritchie doing what he does best. Most people didn’t know he was left handed but learned to play on a right handed guitar similar to Jimi Hendrix.

Born and raised in Pacoima, Ritchie Valens has become Valley royalty and a true gem of our history. Enjoy!

IYKYK 🔊- There is a very specific underpass on the 5/405 freeway which is known as the Beep Beep Underpass. During rush hour many drivers become kids again as they honk their way through and interact with other drivers.

The underpass is located near Sylmar on the way to the 14 freeway. Have you honked here before?

CHATSWORTH - Today there was a horrific crash involving a Metro Bus and SUV. That was followed by a NBC 4 news helicopter crash. We are sending our condolences to everyone. ♥️
