School has started and everyone is busy and distracted, but that doesn't mean that there isn't time for ART!! Eastwards Gallery has plenty to see and enjoy, even if you are just looking for a few minutes of beauty - or need something to brighten your home or office! We've had a visit from Jim Schoon of Fossil + Stone this week - and we have more earrings and necklaces!! He's expanded into using 'Buffalo Nickles' as clasps on sterling silver necklaces, and more Buffalo Horn in his jewelry overall. We also have his recovered piano key ivory pieces, and plenty of gorgeous cross necklaces and earrings. Stop in now though to check out our selection, and either buy yourself a treat - or tell those purchasing presents... But we often run out of Fossil & Stone items, so come by soon!!

This week, Eastwards will return to our Fall Hours. The Gallery will be open TODAY from 11a - 4p, to show visitors the art we have for sale - created by local artists and artisans. Eastwards features art by emerging artists, which are those talented people who create from passion rather than for a living. We pride ourselves on selling art at prices affordable to the common South Dakotan, or any of our guests!
Fall Hours for the Gallery are:
Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays from 11a - 4p; and
Saturdays from 11a - 3:30p
or any time at all, call us and we'll open up to show you our art!

The incredibly detailed and boldly formatted photos of Sally Schroeder capture the plains of South Dakota, in all their glory. Just beyond Irene, Schroeder ranches and photographs her favorite details of her surroundings. Her mounted photos can be framed, or hung as is, to bring South Dakota into your home or office.
Stop by the Gallery to see Sally's amazing photos, and to check out our collection of her glorious blank cards. Give these images to friends and family, to brighten their day and show off your good taste!

Moving into the school season, and even the Fall, and it might be time to add a table or a beautiful piece of woodworking. We have these incredibly well-crafted pieces by Eldon Asbenson of Eldon's Handcrafted. Eldon enjoys salvaging and repurposing wood from old buildings for projects. These pieces preserve the memory of by-gone days. Come by the Gallery to see these works in-person, and enjoy some gorgeous art and artisanal pieces!!

We have paintings and pottery by Cheryl Paulson of Prairie Pottery, and a teacher in this region for 30 years! Everyone knows Cheryl, or took a class from her, and we have her art... but not for long! Cheryl is moving, and we don't know how much more we may get. If you have loved Cheryl's work, and wanted to collect more, you might get in NOW! If you haven't seen her amazing collection of pottery, or enjoyed her gorgeous watercolors, you will want to see these while you can... and buy them if you have a place in your home or office that needs beauty!!

Eastwards has sold some of the incredible images by Kendra Perry Koski and Dakota Winds Photography (https://www.dakotawindsphoto.com/) but we still have many available - or come take a look and then order your favorite from the website.
It is worth a few minutes to stop by the Gallery and immerse yourself in these striking and inspiring photos from South Dakota locales. Kendra has prints, cards and framed images - some using repurposed wood from fallen down barns around the state.

The Gallery currently has in four samples of these gorgeous, realistic-looking, silky roses, made by Mandy Cummins. She can make these to order, as well as some mini-roses at half-the-price. Stop in at Eastwards to see how amazing these flowers look, in one of our art vases, in a simple bud vase or as part of a larger gift. Get information about ordering these flowers in whatever color you need (including the bi-color style like the black-and-red seen here!) by stopping in the Gallery.
