Does your child LOVE to draw or paint — and want to get better at it?

Our new 6-week **Drawing + Painting Foundations** series is designed for young artists who are ready to go beyond a one-day project and start building real artistic skills.

Over six 90-minute studio sessions, students will explore:

✏️ Observation + drawing fundamentals
🎨 Color theory + acrylic painting
📐 Composition + perspective
🖍️ Shading + creating dimension
👀 How to translate what they see into artwork
✨ Confidence, creativity + stronger artistic technique

With personalized instruction in a supportive studio environment, students will build skills they can continue using long after the series ends.

**Two age-based sessions:**

KIDS | Ages 8–12
Tuesdays, 4:15–5:45 PM

TEENS | Ages 13–18
Tuesdays, 6:15–7:45 PM

🎨 6 weeks / 9 hours of instruction

💵 $325 for the full series — about $54 per 90-minute class

**Classes begin next Tuesday, October 6.**

Kids Art Camp is back for Fall Break! 🎨

After our summer camp filled up, we heard from so many families asking for more kids art classes — so we're excited to bring Young Artists Studio back for four creative mornings during Fall Break!

Artist Sebastian Martin will lead young artists through an entirely new lineup of hands-on projects, exploring color theory, color mixing and more.

Bring a favorite photo and learn how to turn it into a detailed watercolor painting during our two-part Dry Brush Watercolor intensive at CANVAS.

Designed for beginners, this workshop gives you 12 hours of hands-on instruction with wildlife artist Alan R Young- Birds of the South as you learn to build the layers, texture and detail that bring an animal portrait to life.

Not a pet person? Choose any wildlife or nature subject that inspires you.

Four mornings to explore, experiment, and make art. 🎨

The 4-Day Kids Fall Art Camp gives young artists a welcoming place to build creative confidence while completing multiple artist-led projects.

Led by artist Sebastian Martin sketchasaurus.rex , the camp is designed for students in grades 1–6. All project materials are included, and children may be dropped off for the supervised sessions.

September 22–25
10:00 AM–12:00 PM each morning
Grades 1–6

Camp registration is $165 for the first child. An additional sibling may attend for $150—contact CANVAS before checkout to arrange the sibling rate.

Learn how to create remarkable texture, detail, and dimension with dry brush watercolor.

Wildlife artist Alan R Young- Birds of the South will lead this beginner-friendly, two-part workshop focused on wildlife and nature painting. Across two Saturdays, you’ll receive 12 hours of guided instruction while learning how to build a painting layer by layer.

September 19 & 26
10:00 AM–4:30 PM each day
All materials included

Please bring a lunch and a printed reference photograph you’d like to work from. Each session includes a 30-minute lunch break.

No dry brush experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to slow down and observe.

Create your own little piece of the coast—no previous resin experience needed. 🌊

In Beachscape on Wood, Traci Offenberg will guide you through combining paint, shells, crushed glass, and resin on a 10-by-6-inch wood plank. Choose your colors and details to make the finished piece completely your own.

The resin will cure overnight, and your artwork will be ready to pick up afterward.
