We're already looking ahead to fall and getting the next round of classes on the calendar! Here's a peek at a few things we've got coming up:

✨ Stained Glass Quilt Squares
September 13 | 12-4:30pm

September 15 | 4-8:30pm
September 16 | 12-4:30pm

The Stained Glass Quilt Squares classes are all the same class, just offered at different times, so pick the date and time that works best for you!

We've still got a little summer left to enjoy! ☀️

We're squeezing every last bit of creativity out of it with two more youth art camps this August:

🏺 Ceramics Youth Camp with Shelby Meyer | August 3-6
📖 Collage & Art Journaling Youth Camp with Eileen Binkley | August 10-13
⏰ Both camps run 10am-12pm

A few spots are still available, so there's still time to get one more creative summer adventure in before school starts!

🌌🎨 Get hyped for the Perseids meteor shower with a Paint & Sip at Wooden Legs!

Join us Thursday, August 6 for a laid-back night of painting, drinks, and hanging out. We'll be painting a colorful night sky filled with shooting stars and tree silhouettes, just in time to get you in the mood for catching the Perseids! ☄️

Erik will walk you through the painting step-by-step, so no experience is needed. Your registration includes one drink, and we'd recommend getting there a little early to order before painting starts at 7:30.

Bring a friend, grab a drink, and come paint with us! 🍻✨

If you haven't made it in to see Ping He's show yet, now's the time! 👀

The exhibition comes down August 9, so there's not much time left to check it out. It's a really cool show with some seriously beautiful work, and definitely one you don't want to miss!

What a day!! 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who braved Saturdays heat and came out for our 3rd Annual Block Party for the Arts! To our amazing artist vendors, the Brookings Farmers Market, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who stopped by to shop, dye a shirt, enter the corn hole board raffle, make a post card, or just came to hang out and say hi (or brought us a snack!). Thank you for making it such a fun morning. 😊

We had so many wonderful people help make the day special. Thank you to First Bank & Trust's Community Fund () for helping make this event possible, Hitch Studio () for the fun balloon columns, CleanSlate Design + Print ()for the free screen-printed postcard station, and the South Dakota Art Museum () for bringing their Doodle Booth!

And of course, thank you to our friend Eric Powell Holm () for keeping us entertained with music all morning, and to Monarch Arial Arts () for bringing their amazing performances to the Block Party!

We loved seeing the block filled with even more art and community than usual last weekend, and we're already looking forward to doing it all again next year for #4! 🎨✨We'll see you there!

✂️ Zine Scene! 📖

Come make your very own zine (short for magazine!) at our next Free Community Art Day! Cut, collage, draw, write, fold, and staple. Make something weird, funny, thoughtful, or just a collection of things you like!

No art experience needed, just come hang out and make something with our guest teaching artist, Bee Lohr. 💛

We've partnered up with the Brookings Arts Council for this Saturday's Block Party for the Arts! 🎨

Not only will you find your farmers market favorites, but you can also shop from local artists, enjoy live music, watch people make live art, play yard games, participate in art creation, and more, while learning all about what the Arts Council does in our community.

🎨 CALL FOR ART: 51st Annual Fine Art Exhibition

We're excited to announce our 51st Annual Fine Art Exhibition! Artists 18+ living or working in South Dakota, or within a 60-mile radius of Brookings into Minnesota, are invited to submit up to 3 original works.

Artwork drop-off: July 30–August 8
Opening Reception & Cash Awards: August 13, 5:30–7:30pm
Exhibition: August 13–September 12

Heads up on parking for this Saturday's events!

Our neighbors are throwing a party! 🎉 Kidoodle Way (the street in front of the Museum) will be closed until noon on Saturday, July 25 to host the Brookings Arts Council block party! Come out to celebrate, or play along at the Museum and utilize these great parking options.
