As the line of cars outside CMEE’s food pantry grows every week, we remain committed to helping families experiencing food insecurity throughout the East End community. Thank you to the donors, volunteers, staff members, and community organizations who donate the resources, time, and knowhow that allow this to be possible.

A very special thanks to SuppliesforSuccess.org for donating the crafting kits we were able to include with the groceries this week!

Get Outside and Make A Mud Kitchen! - The Children's Museum of the East End

Today's "Recipe For Play" combines three of our all-time favorite things...mud, kitchens, and imaginative play! It sounds a little messy (and it is!), but this simple activity provides hours of outdoor fun. It also offers kids the opportunity to cultivate important skills like independence, creativity, and dexterity.

Before you break out the swimsuits and turn on the hose, be sure to check out our CMEE Educator-approved "Mud Kitchen Tips."

Each day, we can feel the sun getting a bit warmer and the idea of spending the playing outside becomes more and more inviting. Creating opportunities for play outside will enable your child to work independently (that’s the dream!) and provide you an opportunity to play creatively side by side .....

In The Kitchen - Homemade Butter - The Children's Museum of the East End

In today's "Recipe for Play" Ms. Liz teaches us how to make butter at home! She's also thrown in some tips to make this surprisingly simple spread deliciously savory or delectably sweet.

Corn is not ready yet this year but, you can typically find cornmeal made from last year’s crop at local farm stands right now. Lucky me, my co-worker Lara recently gifted me a bag of cornmeal from MariLee’s Farmstand in Sagaponack. I went right to my kitchen, and whipped up a ...

Ms. Liz's Styrofoam Relief Prints - The Children's Museum of the East End

In today's "Recipe For Play," Ms. Liz discusses how art can help process difficult emotions and shares one of her favorite DIY projects...Styrofoam Relief Prints!

I have so enjoyed creating art activities each week and have tried each and every one myself at home! These projects are not specifically for children—art is adaptable (and therapeutic!). They’ve been a welcome addition to my daily schedule. Art allows us to take a moment to be still and ...

Today's "Recipe for Play" comes courtesy of the Museum's resident baker AND Director of Marketing. He's sharing his "world famous" Chewy Chocolate Cookie recipe just in time for your virtual Memorial Day BBQs!

In case you couldn’t tell, we’re huge fans of food here at CMEE. We tend to keep things healthy, but every so often the Museum’s Director of Marketing brings in his “world famous” (his words) Chewy Chocolate Cookies for the office to enjoy. They usually don’t make it until lunch. ...
