Join us for one final hooray as we say goodbye to this inquisitive and reflective exhibition. Featuring 100 artists working across a plethora of media, the show seeks to answer one loaded question: what legacy has our nation built for the future? Rather than predicting a singular outcome, ๐—” ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—™๐˜‚๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ: ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฌ creates space for reflection, offering a collective imagining of what America could become.

๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐™‹๐™–๐™จ๐™จ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ shows fellow Americans as passengers and witnesses on a subway car through time. Symbolic images allude to identities throughout the American continents. A Chilean patchwork textile is recreated on the woman's sleeve, depicting the September 11, 1976 bombing of the La Moneda Presidential Palace in Santiago, Chile. Patterns found on Keffiyeh, the Arab headdress and global symbol of heritage and political solidarity, also include protestors appearing behind monumental red roses and poppies as the train passes ruins and smoldering fires. A Death Star hangs in the sky while the train interior carries allusions to street culture. The Road Runner and Crow birds as well as the agates, jaspers and other semi precious gems included in the work serve to indicate the brilliant cultures, wisdom and teachings we carry wherever we go. The painting is tagged with a document from US Customs and Border Protection advising travelers that electronic devices and computers are subject to search and seizure.

๐—™๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜ (๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฑ) imagines a future in which the symbols, figures, and ideologies of early 21st century America have hardened into national myth. Contemporary political imagery becomes cultural artifacts and remnants of a society shaped by spectacle, fear, loyalty, and manufactured belief. At the center stands a fox draped in sheepโ€™s clothing: a false prophet, a trickster. The figure embodies deception not simply as an individual trait, but as a social force capable of reshaping memory, morality, and identity across generations. Surrounding the fox are nopales, symbols of resilience, ancestry, and the Latino communities entangled within systems that simultaneously exploit and reject them.

A fragmented flag structure emerges through gold barbed wire. It references borders, incarceration, family separation, and the criminalization of marginalized bodies, while its gilded surface reflects symbols of power and excess. Throughout the artwork, gold functions as a veneer concealing decay and corruption. These objects appear like ceremonial relics recovered from a collapsing empire: a ship recalling colonial conquest and imperial expansion; a clock frozen at the hour political fate was publicly sealed; chess pieces, weapons, corporate insignias, and religious emblems. Together, these symbols suggest a civilization where technology, nationalism, capitalism, and faith became increasingly inseparable from governance itself.

By reframing present-day political symbols as future archaeological remains, the piece asks what survives after power fades: not only policies or leaders, but the emotional and spiritual consequences left embedded within collective memory. Future generations inherit these remnants without fully understanding where the poison began, only that it shaped the world they were born into.

๐Ÿ‘‰ "I conceived of this painting, 'California Dreaming,' after the fires in Los Angeles. I love LA and was so saddened by the people who lost their homes and livelihoods. Thematically, this painting plays with the idea of California's paradox - it's a beautiful place with abundance but also real and increasing impacts from climate change. It also plays with ideas of reality vs artificiality and real vs digital experience."
