Please join Hibbleton Gallery as we “pop up” digitally. We will be featuring artists on Fridays as we continue to champion and celebrate creativity, at a distance. So grab a glass and join us for opening night. This week we bring you Priscilla Moreno! Priscilla is an artist and illustrator. She creates paintings and sculptures, and mainly utilizes watercolor and ink. Her work is inspired by bossa nova music, retro fashion, and old films. She combines these influences with the people she sees and the eccentricities she observes to tell stories about characters from the world she creates. Her goal is to capture the beauty of her day-to-day life, and create a trip into a world of high fashion, comedy, jazz, and elegant fragrances. She was born in Los Angeles and now resides in Long Beach, California where she works out of her home studio. Check it out......and see more of her work at www.priscillamoreno.com.

Please join Hibbleton Gallery as we “pop up” digitally. We will be featuring artists on Fridays as we continue to champion and celebrate creativity, at a distance. So grab a glass and join us for opening night. This week we bring you John Sollom! Artist statement: “In all of my work, which includes large scale assemblages, I like to expand my understanding of artistry as my content asks the viewer to question their own social and political beliefs. I like to juxtapose imagery with collage, sculpture and text, and create a visual back and forth between sarcasm, reality, and nostalgia. My current series of work addresses pop culture, Americana, and the controversial aspects of our changing times with an uncertain future. Sometimes my work is politically-charged; other times it’s a playful look at color, texture and the romantic notion of being a contemporary artist and social activist. The current outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has encouraged me to continue to create work that challenges the political, humanitarian, and social aspects of everyday life." Please join Hibbleton Gallery as we “pop up” digitally. We will be featuring artists on Fridays as we continue to champion and celebrate creativity, at a distance. So grab a glass and join us for opening night. This week we bring you Nancy Johnson! Artist statement: “I am Nancy Johnson, a local Fullerton artist who loves amusing myself and letting my mind play with imagery and words. A good portion of my work evolves when I let go of what is expected and show the viewer something from a different perspective. I intentionally paint regular everyday objects in not-so-ordinary ways to tell a story. My soft surreal approach to life’s obstacles and experiences is where I am inspired. Not only by my own narratives but the ones I witness in my daily life. Being aware of my own feelings, vulnerabilities, and strengths has been a catalyst of me personally moving forward. My goal is to inspire connection to ones self and the people around us with a more open mind. The medium I use is oil and I generally paint on wood panel. My only hope is that my work brings a wonderment and connection to your thought process and a smile to your heart." Thank you so much for viewing my work. My website is www.canvastickler.com.

Through my current portraiture and figurative work, I like to explore the different textural qualities and mark-making aspects of oil painting. I owe much of my creativity to my parents, who fostered and nurtured my love of art and music from a young age, and whose left-brain and right-brain leanings inform much of my process and my work.”

My cat will watch me paint and that is probably the best part of it all. Other than that, all I need are a pair of headphones, a great album and some paint. Art does the body good."
