Here's our cleaned up North American T-28C Trojan, one of several aircraft we’re power-washing at our Memorial Airpark alongside the aiport.

It's a carrier-capable, two-seat, radial-engine-powered trainer that was used by the US Navy and the Marine Corps from the 1950s into the 1980s. Ours is on loan from the US Navy via the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida. Stay tuned for more updates from the Airpark, particularly one on a certain big black plane.

In the meantime, special thanks to Charlie Howe and Stuart Miller (one of the museum’s First-Team-A.P.-All-American volunteers) for the excellent work!

We have such a great story to share: Today, Jorge A. Barnard (R), a longtime friend of the museum, took to the sky in his his custom-painted Cessna O-1 Bird Dog with Major Chad Richmond (US Army retired) — as a small token appreciation for Richmond’s service to our country.

Major Richmond served in Vietnam 1971-72, mostly flying Hueys. He retired from the armed services in 1988, and spent nearly a decade during the 2000s working with Disabled American Veterans.

Thank you, Major Richmond. And thank you, Jorge, for sharing his story with us!

We’re thrilled with the latest addition to our collection: This beautifully restored 1942 Ford GPW Jeep!

Our deepest thanks to Maj. Mitchell C Davitte Jr. (USAFR, ret.), a Desert Storm veteran, who donated the Jeep in honor of his late father, Lt. Col. Mitchell Davitte Sr. (USAF, ret.), a Vietnam War veteran, and his late friend SSgt Roy E. Clark (US Army, ret.) — a World War II veteran.

BTW: Mitch (who first got the Jeep in 1972) is the tall, good-looking guy in the middle!

We’ve already added it to our Tuskegee Airmen exhibit, where it fits perfectly alongside our Valiant BT-13 Vultee. Come on by and check it out!

We are going to MISS you, Nate Daniel!

Last week, we threw a Goodbye Fiesta for Nate at El Cazedor.

Nate was our Maintenance Tech, but he always helped anywhere he was needed — from moving and maintaining aircraft to Summer Camps.
