For almost 40 years, SOE has strived to transform our community through the celebration of art. In 2015 Space One Eleven looked back over the last 28 years of that mission with our retrospective exhibition "Quietly Making a Loud Noise."

The exhibition showcased the work of over 700 artists who participated in SOE art programs and exhibitions. In addition to looking back at our history, this exhibition explored the changes in art creation, exhibition, and documentation from 1986-2014, by projector slides and carousels next to monitors and digital projectors.

City Center Art is Space One Eleven’s afterschool studio art program for students of all skill levels and is designed to build visual communication skills and foster creative thinking.

We still have seats available in Architecture Camp for grades 9-12!

This camp will be taught by Birmingham architects Kris Nikolich and Andrew C. Bryant of Design Initiative and will teach young architects to meet challenges of design, functionality, and material using many of the same tools as professional architects!
