💫 We are so excited to launch this new program designed for our young explorers! Ages 3-6 will be able to join an adventure that introduces them to nature. Children build confidence and comfort in the outdoors through stories, crafts, animal encounters, and guided nature walks. All led by our incredible Maddie!🌟

Little Naturalists: Ponds & Streams

😊 This is Maddie, one of our newest environmental educators! 🙌🏽 Maddie is passionate about all things animals, and her pursuit and dedication stands for itself. She will be leading this new program, and is bringing plenty of education, experience, and excitement to guide your children through an adventure like no other. Making your kids feel comfortable with being uncomfortable in a safe and interesting environment. 💫

🐠 Little Naturalists: Ponds and Streams is now open for sign ups for age 3-6, to discover ecosystems through hands-on exploration, and we will follow it up with another program Sensory Exploration in August.

💚 Father’s Day begins at the Nature Center!

In celebration of the dads in our lives, we are hosting a special day this Sunday 6/21 for at our pond. Join our educators for an afternoon of learning about the ecosystem and its creatures, then head down and do some exploring at the waters edge.

🐸🐢 Frogs, tadpoles, and turtles are all waiting to be discovered!

Member children $10 with adult. Non members $12 with adult. Come celebrate the fathers with an outdoor adventure. Hit the link in our bio to register!

Our buddies Bert & Ernie had a recent shearing, and it was for a good cause 😊

Our alpaca happen to have particularly good quality fiber. We will be washing and carding it in some of our classes as well as getting some of it professionally processed into yarn for our gift shop! Alpaca fur is sooooo soft 💚

🎉 In celebration of Connecticut Office of Tourism open house day, we are proud to be a part of this event that “is to inspire Connecticut residents to learn about all the experiences in their own backyard.”

🌺 The biggest thank to and ._bill_petit for your visit to Hungerford. They made our land even more beautiful with their lovely Michaela’s Garden Four O’ Clocks addition! We are so grateful for you and your cause, and all you do for the community! We even got the kids involved to teach them how to garden!

🎣 Family Fishing is back!

Charlie is teaching another family fun day! If you weren’t able to make the first one, or if you want another go at catching some aquatic friends, now’s your chance!

🐠 Learn rules, gear setup, safe casting, knot tying, fish handling, and how to find and catch fish. All equipment is provided, including rods and tackle.

🎟️ Admission includes one fisher (ages 8–16) and up to two adults. Sign up at the link in our bio and we will see you next week, fisher friends!
