Whatcom Art Market Sidewalk Sale!

In conjunction with the Fairhaven Sidewalk Sale, this is the one time of the year that the artists mark down art for sale, so this is your chance to come in and find some reduced price original art or creations from more than 50 local artists from Bellingham and Whatcom county!

Here's your chance to meet and chat with many amazing local artists from the Bellingham and Whatcom county area, that offer their original and diverse creations through the Whatcom Art Market! Each artist will be on hand to chat about their art, their journey, and being part of the Whatcom Art Guild and Market.

Sept 11, 5-8PM, 1103-11st. Bellingham, WA (Fairhaven). Just across from Eclipse books.

There will be artist demos showing how they produce their wonderful creations.

🎨 What is the Whatcom Art Market?

The Whatcom Art Market (WAM) is a cooperative gallery in the heart of Fairhaven featuring the work of 50+ local artists from Whatcom, Skagit, and the San Juan Islands.

Inside, you’ll find a rotating collection of locally created paintings, photography, prints, jewelry, woodworking, glass, textiles, sculpture, cards, and more. When you shop at the Art Market, you’re directly supporting artists from our local creative community.

How does it connect to the Whatcom Art Center?

The Whatcom Art Market is the retail gallery where local artists showcase and sell their work. Right next door, the Whatcom Art Center (WAC) provides space for workshops, classes, exhibitions, meetings, and community events.

Together, they give local artists a place to create, connect, showcase, and sell their work, while giving our community an easy way to experience and support local art.

Call to Artists - Exhibit Opportunity at the WAC - Open to all WAG Artists

“Bellingham Illuminations Art in a New Light”

When: October 31, 2026, through November 8, 2026, from 11 am- 6 pm

Where: Whatcom Art Center, 1105 11th St., Fairhaven

Submission Details:

Open to all current WAG members. We are seeking glow-in-the-dark, neon, black light-reactive, And LED enhanced art in any medium-paintings, sculptures, mixed media, and beyond! Let your imagination shine in this immersive, illuminated experience.

Please sign up at the cashier desk at WAM on or before October 10th. Upon receipt of the $15.00 entry fee you will receive an entry packet with forms to complete and attach to each entry.  Packets are available at WAM. 

You may submit up to five items. Collections of small items such as bookmarks or bracelets count as one item. 25% of all sales goes to the WAG Scholarship fund.

Deliver entries to WAC on October 30th between 11 am – 1 pm.

Pick-up all unsold entries Nov. 8th from 5:30-6:00 pm

Docents needed daily October 31-November 8th, 2026

     AM shifts 11:00 am-2:30 pm

     PM shifts 2:30 pm-6:00 pm

     Also help is needed to set up and take down the exhibit.

Janille Dutton ~ Aug 24 to Aug 30

A Pacific Northwest native, Janille is a lifelong artist with an eye for detail and care. Her fluid acrylic, watercolor, and resin creations convey and evoke emotions through color and movement. Her artwork reflects the beauty and sensory experience of undulating water, deep earth tones, and the heady smell of evergreen forests. She has also added fiber arts to her booth with chickens that everyone loves.
