Wednesday, June 24, we took a field trip to Milan, Ohio, birth place of Thomas Edison.

We met at the Milan Library and then started our excursion:
1. We were greeted by the town's peacock, Percy at the Thomas Edison birthplace. We had an hour tour of the facility and saw some of the many inventions Thomas Edison discovered! Thank you to the very knowledgeable tour guides!
2. Next, we walked to the Milan Museum and had an hour tour of the history of Milan, Ohio. We also saw the glassware and progression of the USA flag and made some patriotic crafts. Thank you to the experienced tour guides!
3. We had a picnic lunch at the town square. Tina (Ackerman) Frederick, a town citizen, who came over to visit us and find out what this group of 25 people wearing red, white and blue t-shirts were doing today in Milan. She was impressed about our explanation of our field trip and bought everyone a cookie from the "Baker on the Square". Thank you Tina, they were delicious!
4. Eric Jones, gave us a tour of the Milan Fire Department in town. He is a volunteer fire fighter and showed us all the equipment in their trucks. He even put on his air tanks, so we could see how they worked. It was a very informative guided tour through the station, thank you!
