Bricks & Challenge Coins

This afternoon we picked up bricks for the upcoming Iceland Group Reunion visit soon!



A Big Shoutout to C&A Engraving for the bricks they prepared for us! Always a pleasure doing business with these folks!

A little late but better late than never: A few months back we had visitors from the Cincinnati area.. Great folks to have met! Angie and Ben were passing through and stopped in to visit us, while here I presented them with one of our challenge coins...

Recently they sent one of their challenge coins from their local American Legion that they belong to as active supporters/ members!

I look forward to their return someday and WE look forward to the Iceland Reunion Groups visit coming up soon!!🇺🇸

Today we had a large crowd visit the museum! Some were from
Columbus, Cincinnati, the Harrod area and central Ohio!
It appeared we had a couple car clubs that had made reservations earlier to tour. Others were visiting the area.
Nevertheless a great bunch of folks and very enthusiastic and interested in the history of not only the site but ALL
AC&W sites!

TAPS.......

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of one of our former 664th AC&W airmen!

Jerome ( Jerry) Walker passed away from
a courageous fight from illness"s on 7/12/26...

Jerry was a supportive and loyal member of the 664th AC&W Reunion Committee and museum!

Jerry was the man of two hats so to say as he often referred to, he was both Airforce but also Retired Coast Guard!

He will be sadly missed and our condolences and sympathy to his family and friends!

R.I.P my friend 🙏🏻🇺🇸

Good evening to the 664th, our NADRM group and ALL of our other branch service veterans!

This afternoon we had a visitor to the museum... Larry Lewis former long time chairman of the 664th AC&W Reunion Committee !
Larry was also stationed here at the 664th and Finland Minnesota. Larry inspired many reunion's and support of the 664th committee!
Larry stopped in to see how we were doing and to see some of the artifacts we have acquired !
It was good to see Larry and we hope to see more of him in the future!
I'll say Larry was instrumental in being my mentor in the prior years! 🇺🇸

Just sharing an article from one of our member's in regard to the Nike Site in Ohio!

A little while back the Butler County Historical Society had the opportunity to attend an event honoring veterans held at the old Nike Missile Base CD-78 just outside of Oxford, Ohio. It's fascinating to know that during the height of the Cold War, Butler County was a key component in the first line of defense against Soviet long-range bombers. The base was commissioned in March of 1960 and was taken off of the active-duty list in 1970. A few veterans who actually served or trained at this base, or others identical to it, were present and were full of information and details. The included photos are from what was once the Integrated Fire Command center. This site is now privately owned. The launching and silo site is located 1.25 miles to the northwest of this site, and was armed with Nike Hercules missiles, and is presently owned by Miami University.
The present owner is hoping to clean up, repair, and bring this historic site back to life for public events and educational tours, but decades of abandonment have made that a challenging effort.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting Martina and Justin that toured the museum!
Interesting fact, Martina works in transportation at the Wright Patterson AFB!
I thank them both for stopping in and visiting us!🇺🇸
