🐇💜 MAGIC PEDAL COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

WHITE RABBIT GALLERIES

Where creativity meets community.

What makes a city a community?

We think it’s people.

People willing to invest their time. People willing to share their talents. People willing to teach someone else. People willing to open a door and say:

“Come in. You belong here too.”

This week, our Magic Pedal Company Community Spotlight takes us to one of those special places helping make Barberton more than simply a place on a map:

🐇 WHITE RABBIT GALLERIES

Located at 571 W. Tuscarawas Avenue in Barberton’s Arts & Entertainment District, White Rabbit Galleries is a nonprofit community arts center founded in 2021 by artists Laura Smith and Molly Brown.

Their idea was simple but powerful: create more opportunities for local artists to create, display, sell and teach.

But spend a little time learning about White Rabbit and you quickly realize…

This isn’t just an art gallery.

It’s a place where talent is discovered.

It’s a place where talent is encouraged.

And it’s a place where talent is passed from one person to another.

Walk through the doors and you’ll find beautiful galleries and exhibitions, but you’ll also find working artists, studio spaces, classes and workshops where someone who has never considered themselves an artist can sit down and discover something they never knew they could do.

🎨 Drawing
🏺 Pottery & ceramics
🖌️ Watercolor
✏️ Printmaking
🧶 Felting
💎 Lapidary
✂️ Collage
…and so much more.

And beginners are welcome.

Perhaps one of our favorite things we discovered while researching White Rabbit is their belief that creativity shouldn’t be limited by someone’s ability to pay.

Through the Creative Connections Scholarship Fund, eligible young people and seniors with financial need can receive full scholarships for classes.

That’s people helping people.

That’s building talent.

That’s community.

❤️ AND THEN THERE ARE THE KIDS…

Every community needs places where its children can discover that what they create matters.

Earlier this year, White Rabbit hosted its sixth annual B-Art Show, filling both floors with artwork created by students from Barberton City Schools — from elementary school through high school.

Think about that for a moment.

Somewhere in Barberton, a child created something at school.

Then that artwork left the classroom.

It went downtown.

It was placed in a real gallery.

And that child could walk through the doors with Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa and proudly point to the wall and say:

“THAT’S MINE.” ❤️

Maybe it becomes simply a wonderful childhood memory.

But maybe that moment of encouragement sparks something bigger.

Maybe someday that child becomes an artist.

A photographer.

A designer.

An architect.

A craftsperson.

Or maybe a teacher who passes that same encouragement along to another child.

We never really know how far one moment of encouragement can travel.

💜 THIS IS THE BARBERTON WE WANT PEOPLE TO DISCOVER.

At Magic Pedal Company, we’ve been talking a lot lately about what makes Barberton special.

And we’re discovering that some of the greatest attractions aren’t necessarily giant tourist destinations.

They’re the hidden treasures created by people who care about their community.

White Rabbit Galleries is one of them.

Their exhibitions have attracted artists from throughout Northeast Ohio.

And every time somebody comes into Barberton to see an exhibition, attend a class or visit an artist, something else can happen.

Maybe they grab dinner at a locally owned restaurant.

Maybe they walk downtown.

Maybe they discover another small business.

Maybe they take a walk around Lake Anna.

Maybe they come back for another event.

And maybe someone who hasn’t visited downtown Barberton in years discovers a community very different from the one they remember.

THAT’S HOW COMMUNITIES GROW.

One artist.

One student.

One restaurant.

One small business.

One nonprofit.

One visitor.

One experience at a time.

Magic Pedal Company may have started as a fun way for people to experience Barberton aboard Lady Magic.

But we believe our bike can be something more.

💜🚲 A MOVING AMBASSADOR FOR BARBERTON.

A way to introduce residents and visitors to the incredible people, businesses, organizations and hidden treasures already here.

That’s why we’re proud to have White Rabbit Galleries as a Magic Pedal Company advertising partner.

Not simply because they’re a place where you can look at art.

But because they’re helping people CREATE it.

Helping people LEARN it.

Helping artists SHARE it.

Helping children BELIEVE in their talent.

And helping give residents and visitors another reason to rediscover downtown Barberton.

Sometimes you don’t have to travel very far to find something extraordinary.

Sometimes you just have to look a little closer at your own hometown.

And sometimes…

🐇 YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. 💜
