Our Summitview Elementary Mural Is Installed!

‘Through Our Eyes’ 2025
Fused Glass on Aluminum

This fused glass mural is the collective work of 480 Summitview Elementary School students, Kindergarten through 5th Grade, orchestrated by Mesolini Glass Studio of Bainbridge Island, WA.

The summit of Mount Adams, for which the school is named, peeks over the Yakima foothills. Students partnered in pairs and worked diligently to create the glass images from an abundance of provided colored glass pieces.

The final product is this colorful compilation of Yakima through their eyes. Local community members selected this artwork through a process managed by the Washington State Arts Commission in partnership with the West Valley School District.

It’s so fun to see this piece up and so many enjoying it!

TONIGHT! COME CELEBRATE WITH US!

We are so excited to share the Summitview Elementary Mural we’ve been creating will soon be packed and taken to Yakima!

Join us for a toast to it’s completion! We look forward to seeing you at our studio this Friday, October 24 2025 from 6pm - 8pm!

It has been months of planning and some delightful days spent with the 480 K - 5th grade students creating their glass icons.
Multiple kiln firings, then orchestrating the placement of the icons onto the mural’s fused glass background. More firings. Now that it is complete, it is time to share it with you.

Here’s a peek, we look forward to seeing you!

It was a beautiful day at the studio on Friday, we hope to see you on Saturday or Sunday. Here is a taste of what you’ll see.
The secret Garden Stair case is a recent commission & lives in Seattle.
