Romildo Marranci Jr Contemporary, Abstract Paintings Romildo Marranci Contemporary Abstract Artist

A Brazilian Contemporary Abstract artist coming of age during my transitioning years from Brazil to the United States where I saw a great appeal for nonrepresentational styles of painting such as Abstract Expressionism. Color, paint and texture are the way I express my response to what is happening around me: music, the weather, friends, events in the world and especially the colors that I see in

nature. Many of my color pallets are visualized as scenery is streaming by while I am traveling around the Southeastern United States.

Euclid’s Boreal VI is a contemporary abstract mixed media painting that explores the feeling of returning to a calm, grounding space. Built through layered acrylics and textured marks, the work suggests shifting light, weather, and landscape memory without becoming literal. The composition is designed to feel alive, with movement and depth that invites the viewer to slow down and settle into the surface

I’m excited to share a new painting from my studio, a continuation of my Euclid’s Boreal collection, now with number 5.
This collection has been such a fun journey for me to create. Each piece feels like an exploration of movement, texture, and emotion, but this new one felt especially exciting from the start. I’ve been enjoying the process so much, letting the painting grow naturally while still staying connected to the spirit of the series.
What made this piece even more special for me is the color green. Green has always been one of my favorite colors, and I loved giving it a stronger presence in this painting. There’s something about green that feels alive, grounding, fresh, and full of energy all at once. Working with it in this piece brought me a lot of joy, and I think that feeling really made its way into the final painting.
Euclid’s Boreal V continues the visual language of the collection while bringing its own personality and rhythm. For me, that is one of the most rewarding parts of creating a series, seeing how each painting connects to the others while still standing on its own.

Desert Dusk - After the Storm/Before the Calm”
There is a moment right after weather moves through, when everything gets quieter but still feels charged. The air changes, the light softens, and the world looks like it is catching its breath. That in-between state is the emotional center of Desert Dusk After the Storm/Before the Calm, an original abstract landscape painting that leans into atmosphere and sensation rather than literal geography.

This morning I begrudgingly dragged myself out of bed and reluctantly decided to revisit an old piece instead of creating something new. It’s a monochromatic piece, titled “Peaceful Chaos,” measuring 16 x 12, featuring various shades of white, black, and gray. Who knows what I’ll manage to conjure up this time.

This painting that I am working with has changed concept 3 times in the last 48 hours. My ADD won’t let me start and finish with the same concept, but over time I just have to go with the flow or it will make me nuts. We shall see what this painting will be like when I have it completed. Stay tuned.

Oh Dali, the attention seeking, high performing chaos, genius, self-promotion, and brilliance! His influence pushes me in certain areas and occasionally sparks inspiration in my own work. Seeing his pieces in person is always a delight.

Still a work in progress, but this time I’m thinking smaller. After drowning in a sea of black, gray, and white paintings, I figured it was time to add a pop of color on a smaller canvas.
