Let's meet the artist of this year's Figures of Speech Exhibition! Today's artist is Carrie Dodd.

"Upon moving to Indiana from the West Coast, I fell in love with the Midwestern sky and landscape, and I fell in love with painting. I continue to paint; and almost always, my paintings feature the Midwestern sky or the Pacific Ocean, two elements of nature that inspire me endlessly and pull me toward the two places I call home: California and Indiana."

Carrie’s artwork and more from this exhibit can be purchased at the museum or online at www.andersonart.org/portfolio/figures-of-speech-2020/

Let's meet the artists of this year's Figures of Speech Exhibition! Today's artist is Gini Deaton.

Gini Deaton is an artist that believes we all have that creative spark, no matter how it manifests itself, whether it is in drawing, painting, decorating a room or knowing what colors work well together in an outfit. We all can nurture that gift. Today she is thrilled to be focusing more on her first love, working with oil paints. She teaches oil painting at several venues locally and nationally.

Figures of Speech (2020)

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first LIVE event! We had a few kinks to fix but we hope you enjoyed it.

The award winners have officially been announced. You can view them on our website at t.ly/hZWe or go directly to the catalog at t.ly/GZTP.

We hope you will stop in and check out the exhibition which runs until September 20th! We will be introducing you to the artists each week on Facebook and Instagram during the length of this show. You can also vote for your personal favorite while visiting the galleries.

Figures of Speech is a competitive exhibition open to artists 18 years of age or older who live, or have once lived, in the Midwest and created artwork. Artists are asked to create a work of art inspired by a figure of speech and then juried in.

Going and enjoying the beautiful Art. First time being in there was tonight. Absolutely loved what I seen.
Have you considered doing a beginning quilting class in the evening? I know so many people who are free on Tuesday evening who aren't available on weekday afternoons. I was excited to see the event until I saw the time.
Just a reminder........
Has the YouTube video for the animation camp been created yet?
Emma had a good time today at the Anderson Art Center.
Looking for any possible candidates that would be willing to donate their time and skills to help paint the Anderson YMCA
