Kent House is closed for holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Open Monday-Saturday, closed Sundays, for guided tours only. Tour times: 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM Kent House is a classic example of French colonial architecture. Standing on the original land grant from the King of Spain to Pierre Baillio II, it offers a glimpse of the French, Spanish and American cultures that have influenced Louisiana. r to the Louisiana Purchase. The house was built by Pierre Baillio II, whose family came from France. Pierre's father was an officer at Fort St. Jean Baptiste, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The plantation house is one of the oldest standing structures in the state of Louisiana. Together with its outbuildings, it preserves the homestead of a successful Creole family typical of a Louisiana colonial era working plantation.

Day 4 of Jane in June was full of creativity and fun!🌹

Today, Ms. Jackie joined us to teach the girls the proper way to plant vincas in their pots, and each camper got to create their very own reticule — a small bag inspired by those used in Jane Austen’s era.

Later, Ms. Frances and Ms. Diane showed the girls how to make beautiful flower arrangements, and of course, we ended the day with a lovely tea party and some fun pictures together.

We can’t believe tomorrow is our last day — and our big tea party! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.

⭐️Member Spotlight: Then & Now⭐️

Meet Ella! A former Jane in June camper, Ella is now helping make this year’s camp special for a new group of girls. She is 19 years old, an Electrical Engineering major at Louisiana Tech University, and has worked at Kent Plantation House for four years!

Ella says she loves seeing the campers enjoy Jane in June as much as she did when she was younger. We love seeing our campers come full circle and give back to a program that meant so much to them!

Jane in June - Day 3 👒

Day 3 was full of creativity, friendship, and fun! The girls enjoyed a tour of the Kent Plantation House, decorated their flower hats, and painted flower pots to take home. We also spent time capturing special memories with our Jane in June “big sisters” and “little sisters” - one of the sweetest traditions of the week and a wonderful way for friendships to blossom.

We wrapped up the day with a delightful tea party and plenty of smiles along the way. We love watching these girls learn, create, and make new friends, and we can’t wait to see what our final days together bring!

Jane in June – Day 2! 🪶

We had another fun-filled day at Jane in June! Today, the girls learned about quill pens and practiced writing just as they would have in Jane Austen’s time. They also decorated fans and discovered the fascinating meanings behind traditional fan language.

A special thank you to Stacy for joining us and teaching the campers about biodiversity and the circle of life. We ended the day with one of our favorite traditions- tea time!

We had a great first day of Jane in June! 🌸

Today, our campers stepped back in time as they learned fun facts about Jane Austen, got paired with a big sis/little sis, practiced proper etiquette, explored Regency-era fashion, and enjoyed a variety of games and activities. The girls also painted decorative jars and rocks, showing off their creativity throughout the day.

We wrapped up our first day with a lovely tea party, the perfect way to end a day filled with learning, laughter, and new friendships. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!

Le Tour de Bayou is back for its 15th Annual Ride on Saturday, September 19, 2026!

Join cyclists from across Louisiana and beyond for one of Central Louisiana's premier cycling events. Riders can choose from 10-, 25-, 40-, 69-, and 101-mile routes, while families and community members can participate in the 2-mile Family Run/Walk.

Registration includes an event t-shirt and access to the post-ride party. Riders who register by August 20th are guaranteed a t-shirt.

Whether you're an experienced cyclist, a recreational rider, or simply looking for a fun way to spend the day, Le Tour de Bayou offers a memorable day of cycling, community, and fun in Central Louisiana.

Jane in June is almost here!

Girls ages 8–12 are invited to join us June 15th – 19th from 9:00 AM–3:30 PM for a week inspired by the world of Jane Austen. Campers will enjoy hands-on activities, creative projects, games, etiquette, history, and memorable experiences in one of Central Louisiana’s most beautiful historic settings.

Registration is still open with a few spots remaining. We would love for your child to join us for a wonderful week here at Kent Plantation House!

We currently still have a few openings for our Jane in June Day Camp for young ladies who have completed grades 2-6 during the 2025-2026 school year. Camp is scheduled for June 15 - 19, 2026, from 9 AM - 3:30 PM, and is limited to 24 participants. During Jane in June, young ladies will complete numerous art projects, attend and host authentic tea parties, learn table etiquette, journal, and play some of the games and past times of Jane Austen's era. They will also tour the Kent House and grounds and will create a Summer full of lifetime memories! Camp tuition is $250 per camper and includes daily lunch, snacks and all supplies. To reserve your child's spot, please call the Kent House at 318-487-5998.
