🏆 TOP THREE! 🏆
We are incredibly proud to share that the Savannah River Site Museum was named one of Cyber City’s Top Three Museums in the 2026 Community’s Choice Awards! 🎉

While we did not take home the top spot, being recognized among the community’s three favorite museums is an honor we do not take lightly.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted, visited, volunteered, supported, and cheered us on. Your support allows us to continue sharing the fascinating history of the Savannah River Site, connecting our community to the past, and inspiring curiosity about science and technology.

We are grateful to be part of a community that values its history—
and we are excited for everything still to come!

Thank you for putting the SRS Museum in the Top Three! ❤️

Behind every artifact, exhibit, and story at the Savannah River Site Museum is a network of people committed to protecting the history of the Savannah River Site and the communities connected to it.

We are grateful for the continued collaboration between the SRS Heritage Foundation, New South Associates, and the SRS Historic Preservation Program. Their expertise, dedication, and support help us preserve the past while connecting today’s visitors with the science, innovation, and human stories that define SRS.

Joseph, Director of Administration at New South Associates; and Susan Ferrara, Savannah River Nuclear Solution’s SRS Historic Preservation Program Manager.

Thank you to all who help us tell the SRS story. And a special thank you to the Rotary Club of Aiken for allowing us the opportunity to share In Their Words – A Savannah River Retrospective. The video features three short oral histories from Margaret Rountree, Ellyn McNair, and Walt Joseph. Three varying perspectives from three nonagenarians (90 years young) all whose lives were impacted by the construction of the Savannah River Plant.

Today marks the opening of the SRS @ 75 Traveling Exhibit at the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta — the first installation of this special commemorative exhibit.

Created by the SRS Museum and made possible through support from the NuWaDi (Nuclear Waste Dialogue) Consortium, the SRS @ 75 Traveling Exhibit offers visitors a capsule experience — a concentrated glimpse into the rich and complex history of the Savannah River Site through themes of national security, scientific innovation, environmental stewardship, and community impact over the past 75 years.

We are honored to launch this traveling exhibit in North Augusta and look forward to sharing this important story with communities throughout the region.

Be sure to stop by and experience this preview of the stories, artifacts, and history preserved at the SRS Museum.
