The Midnight Gallery is a special place to find inspiration, creativity, a sense of awe and wonder. Thank you for looking at the Midnight Gallery.

Purchase glass art, fine gifts, or one of a kind premium glass urns for both people and pets while browsing in rich, elegant décor and ambiance. Moved from the original gallery location in Tama IA to new location at 637 Main Street in Ackley Iowa. The new store front was used to designate a specific retail area for glass art and fine gifts while still creating multiple artistic vignettes each with

a different decor and style to emphasize elegant decor and interior design. The space will be used to inspire all who enter and take them out of their ordinary experience if even for a moment. Groups and individuals can tour the gallery and purchase artwork. School students can tour to help develop creativity and artistic interest. Photographers can purchase time in the space to offer their clientele a convenient one stop location with multiple dramatic and interesting backdrops to create stunning and unique photographs. Grieving or terminally ill guests can come for a place of respite and to discuss the creation of personalized and custom memorials and urns hand crafted by local artists to help celebrate and remember their lives and accomplishments. A place of gathering that fosters peace, creativity, possibility and a higher quality of life. Donations and sponsors wishing to take part in the creation of something amazing are encouraged and appreciated. Together we can create something that will genuinely touch and change all who visit.

For my compassionate friends and followers, if you have a moment to float up a prayer or two, I know someone who will be broken-hearted and need them later this afternoon when she has to send both her kitties over the Rainbow Bridge due to rapidly declining health issues.

Christina got Zeus and Nelson as kittens within a few weeks of each other over 10 years ago. Zeus was the OG, but when their family learned about Nelson having been attacked by an aggressive animal leaving his lower jaw damaged, they opened their hearts to giving him a home with the special care he would need for the rest of his life; and the two became inseparable “brothers” that have been side by side ever since.

Zeus is usually the chill kitty, just walking around elegant and affectionate, quietly sitting on the counter waiting for someone to turn the faucet to a drizzle so he can “drink from the fountain,” climbing inside anything he can turn into a fort and peek out of, and doing his job of being a palpable “presence”…until he decides it is time for his spontaneous circus act of jumping from the second floor balcony onto the first floor couch after a bout of the zoomies. Nelsen is the character of the two, eternally curious, getting in the middle of everybody’s everything, having to sample all the other animals’ food, climbing on Christina’s head after the beauty shop so he can smell her hair, sitting with his front legs sticking straight out in impossible positions, and loudly meowing his opinion about whatever is going on around him. Both snuggle in and purr like fine-tuned engines if given the opportunity to enjoy some attention and affection.

Per her request to the Midnight Gallery, Nelly’s resting place is a combination of satin black and pearl white backed by mirror gold to give it a rich, creamy appearance. Silver metallic strands, holographic diamond dust, and flakes of pearl mica add a touch of sparkle, and strips of elegant black and clear crystals define the separation of the colors. Zoobie’s resting place features the same beautiful green as his hypnotic eyes, which are his defining characteristic. Accents of golden metallic strands, holographic gold diamond dust, and pearl white mica complement the design and pay homage to the detail in his fur; while crystals in golden chain represent his Angelic collar. A satin black background and matching shaped glass tie the two together in slumber, and the inside of each features a richly padded black velvet liner.

Rest in Paradise Zeus and Nelsen, thank you for the priceless love you shared over the years. We will miss you more than you know.

Hold your space water, the custom Midnight Gallery life size aquatic Angler Alien prop is making waves with his aggressive attitude. Standing just over 6' tall, he features a completely overhauled Ghoulish Productions Angler Fish head, rare Zagone Studios, LLC webbed beast gloves modified to match, a fully poseable wire frame body, iridescent cape, and uniformed via multiple trips to the Iowa Falls CWU Thrift Store. Wet in the world was I thinking?

Transported via the Galactic Shuttle, the Crimson Alien appeared at the Midnight Gallery late in the night. Fully poseable 6' tall wire frame, generic head customized in candy red over mirror gold with scarlet diamond dust and infinite coats of clear for depth. Modified Zagone Studios, LLC alien hands to match, iridescent cape, and uniform pieced together at Iowa Falls CWU Thrift Store. He was starry eyed to see so many of his friends here.

Becky Norman was a friend and fellow artist. She created over 500 of her custom garden posts and countless other items that people enjoy to this day. Her elaborate garden and koi ponds made it fun for the little kids and adults alike to walk by the yard and imagine they were exploring an enchanted wood.

She and Steve were dedicated supporters of the Midnight Gallery and commissioned over 30 custom pieces of my artwork. One of them was this pre-planned Urn for the "someday" when she would eventually need it. Unfortunately, that day came much sooner than anyone would realize. I had the honor of being asked to place her inside it myself and set up the display for her visitation and funeral.

Fully poseable wire frame body, overhauled head, and reworked hands by Zagone Studios, LLC; with space duds compiled through multiple visits to the Iowa Falls CWU Thrift Store. Says his favorite candy bar is Milky Way.

What a tangled web we weave to bring quality horror to Ackley's doorstep. 😄

Hot off the Alien conveyor belt, the latest life-sized custom Midnight Gallery horror prop; featuring a rare Ghoulish Productions Hybrid mask sculpted by Jordu Schell, then overhauled with a new paint job and epoxy accents. Zagone Studios dinosaur creature hands repainted in new colors and claws, and a one-off cosmic knight uniform. 6'2" tall, fully poseable body and fingers. Out of this world!

Porkin' fun at you-just finished my custom Midnight Gallery life size farmer pig prop. Overhauled a fun Bloody Pig mask from legendary Ghoulish Productions with an updated paint job, some dental work, 3d gore, and epoxy; added some nice hooves for hands and feet from Zagone Studios, LLC; and created a one-off poseable wire frame body. He's currently rooting around the other props trying to talk them into hitting the jug and taking a snort with him. 😄

For 14 years, tiny little Tiki was always by Kathy’s side. She followed her into every room and slept under the covers with her at night. She loved to travel and was a loyal co-pilot from the West Coast to Southern Texas and countless destinations in-between, but her favorite places were on Kathy’s lap or laying in the sun on a nice day. Tiki decided she was the boss of the bigger dogs, but she was afraid of the cat; loved people food, and would only eat Schwan’s brand ice cream. I had the pleasure of meeting this precious creature in person a while back, and her sweetness was palpable.

When Kathy lost Tiki due to deteriorating health, it broke her heart. She reached out to the Midnight Gallery requesting a special resting place that had a little pink in it.

By Your Side brings a charming, petite keepsake shape, with beveled glass, golden scalloped borders, and a unique, coral flower with a gentle offset on the lid to the artistic table. Flakes of pearl white mica are interwoven with metallic gold strands, then layered in iridescent rouge pink, violet diamond dust, ultraviolet purple, and fuchsia for visual texture and effervescent color. A blend of candied lilac and grape is marbled between the elements and backed with mirror gold metallic for depth. Custom padded crushed velvet lines her bed, and once I placed her inside, I carefully affixed the golden chain and glistening white crystal collar around the flower and down the sides to hold her safe and secure in her slumber.

Sophie was rescued twice by Drea, initially, when she was discovered in a home that neglected her and was surrendered to the safety of a shelter, and once again when Drea eventually adopted her as her own a few months later. In those days, Sophie learned a lot from Drea’s other pup Charlotte, and began to love walks, adventures, digging in the trash for hidden treasures, barking, chasing cats, and playing with her toys. She adored all kinds of people and every kind of treat-especially peanut butter. Her chosen perch was on the top of the couch, sitting with her butt on Drea’s shoulder. She was the snoring snuggler who woke Drea up with kisses, her emotional support, and the dedicated protector who once pulled on the garbage man’s sock to show him she meant business.

When Sophie became ill and they had to part, Drea was more than devastated. She reached out to the Midnight Gallery to help create a resting place that paid tribute to her beautiful coat and the signature spark of “purple” that defined her personality and was so prevalent on her collar.

A Pup of Purple begins with an interesting piece of glass that features gradient ribs, growing from small to large with a generous section of smooth glass on either side. This allows the refraction of the materials to magnify and change character like a kaleidoscope as they are viewed from the perspective of the multiple shapes or the option of just enjoying the unaltered finish across the flat horizon. Flakes of pearl white and gold mica are woven through golden metallic strands and dashes of diamond dust. Multiple coats of translucent pearl white metallic are layered, dried, then reverse distressed. The marbled recessions are randomly adorned in purple haze, ultraviolet pearl, and royal blue, then a back layer of iridescent flip-flop fuchsia/deep purple flakes brings the accents to life with an illuminated hot pink glow. Mirror gold ensures that everything has a reflective background to shine from. Underneath the polished brass lid, a trinity of sparkling white crystal rows in golden chain encircle the top to represent her Angelic collar; and she is lovingly tucked inside surrounded with soft, padded, crushed velvet.
