A Step Further Leads to Innate Instinct by Philip Tsetinis (2024-ongoing)

The series examines human behavior during acute states of exception, the exact threshold where social order and civilizational habitus temporarily collapse. Rooted in socio-cultural observations, Tsetinis creates physically realized stagings that simulate everyday situations, only to deliberately rupture them through disruptive events. These works operate as visual studies of losing control, marking the precise transition from socially regulated actions to archaic survival reflexes, presenting instinct as a radical, situationally triggered response to structural fractures.

Set in an era defined by post-factual aesthetics, the project stands as an epistemic space of experience. The photographic image does not serve as documentary evidence, but as an instrument to destabilize perception, captured in a singular, unrepeatable moment on analogue 4x5-inch large-format film.

Philip Tsetinis

Born in 1993, Tsetinis's practice centers on the socio-cultural investigation of human existential conditions at the fractures of societal, technological, and biological systems. He analyzes critical transitions where external stimuli force individuals into transformation, ranging from gradual evolutionary adaptation to the abrupt collapse of rational control.

Countering the disembodiment of digital image cultures, he formulates a hyper-physical ontology of the image, approaching photography as an epistemic space to destabilize perception and challenge assumptions of visibility and credibility in a post-factual era. He lives and works in Vienna.

Henrique Porta-Nova

Henrique draws and creates compositions in a way that resembles writing in a diary, a sincere practice of painting and drawing in which his impulses and experiences serve as catalysts. He imagines that his paintings and drawings have the ability to hold onto the emotions and secrets that haunt him while he is creating them.

He feels visually drawn to the aesthetics and symbolism of alchemical and mystical illustrations and illuminations, and his images are, therefore, somewhat enigmatic, moving freely between the abstract and figurative. Working across painting on canvas and drawing on paper, he is satisfied with not being understood and less cohesive in his visual language, searching for what sparks in someone's mind when looking at his work, and what conversation he can have with that someone.

Henrique Porta-Nova

Born in 2003 in Viseu, Porta-Nova is a Portuguese visual artist who lives and works in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. He holds a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon and is currently an MFA student at the School of Arts and Design (ESAD.CR). He has exhibited in several cultural venues and galleries including Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes (Lisbon) and Galeria do Sol (Porto), where he will soon have his first solo show.

Arttaca Visits Princess of Anxiety by Ratch Osathanugrah at Noble PLAY, Bangkok, Thailand.

Ratch Osathanugrah presents a tribute dedicated entirely to the memory of his late mother.

Through suspended sculptural forms and expressive, high-contrast canvases, the exhibition translates a lifelong struggle with emotional turmoil, isolation, and anxiety into a visual narrative. Osathanugrah channels personal grief and complex psychological weight into an evocative portrait of vulnerability and enduring connection.

Princess of Anxiety is on view from August 1 to 22, 2026.

Parallel Mutant Family by Fujimura Family

This work explores how human beings continuously generate their own individual worlds through the inseparable relationship between living and artistic practice. As we live, we unconsciously emphasize certain impressions, accumulating them as memories while forming concepts, constructing a unique world constantly reshaped through dialogue, relationships, and experience.

Using everyday family photographs, the project cuts, stitches, and layers images into physical collages. Photography is reinterpreted not only as a record of events but as traces of memory, perception, and consciousness, transforming invisible structures of perception into tangible objects. The boundary becomes a mirror-like surface where different worlds reflect one another. By visualizing this endless cycle of mutation, the project invites us to understand our differences and imagine new ways of living together through shared worlds.

Fujimura Family

Fujimura Family is a Japanese artist duo consisting of photographer Dai Fujimura and poet Ajikatan. Working across photography, video, poetry, collage, AI, ceramics, and live performance, they regard living itself as an artistic practice. Beginning with the intimacy of family, their work explores memory, identity, and the shifting nature of existence within an ever-changing reality. They were awarded A Solo Exhibition at the PhMuseum Lab Prize through the PhMuseum 2026 Photography Grant, and were finalists for the PhMuseum 2025 Photobook Award.
