OUTSIDER ART / ART BRUT: This striking piece by Michael Banks, Michael Banks, captures a sense of collective intensity, where his signature stylized, haunting figures seem to press against the viewer’s space.

True creativity defies conventional filters and "taste" standards. Outsider art reveals how unconventional marks—raw, authentic, and unpolished—become a powerful, undeniable voice. These expressions remind us that creativity isn’t about fitting in or gaining approval; it’s about embracing your unique vision and sharing it boldly. Don’t wait for validation from others. On your creative journey—trust your vision, create freely, and let your individuality shine through every stroke and idea.

I'm long overdue in posting a huge thank you to all who came out to our gallery Grand Opening on 21-22 November. We were gobsmacked by the turnout, the beijeinhos, the hugs, and the interest in learning about the art we collect. If you'd like to learn more about Art Brut and Contemporary Art, I encourage you to visit in São João da Madeira, less than a 1.5 hour drive from Figueira da Foz. You'll be amazed!
Special thanks to those who brought food and drink to share and to CA Moon for gifting us with a "housewarming" pineapple plant!
