On the occasion of 14th August 2026, a grand ceremony was held at the Directorate General of Culture and Libraries, Government of Sindh, at Liaquat Memorial Library and Sambara Art Gallery Karachi, to inaugurate the art exhibition "Ishq-e-Zameen" organized by the Directorate General of Culture and Libraries, Government of Sindh, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by Secretary Culture Khair Muhammad Kalro, Director General Culture Habibullah Memon, Director General Libraries Hidayatullah Rajar, and Turkish Consul General Ergül KADAK of Karachi.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag and the national anthem, and a cake was also cut in celebration of the Independence Day. On this occasion, Turkish Consul General Ergül KADAK delivered a brief speech, congratulated the people of Pakistan on the Independence Day, and expressed his commitment to further strengthening the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
A special event titled "Ishq-e-Zameen" is being organized on the occasion of Independence Day. Through artistic activities and programs related to fine arts, the cultural heritage, art, and love for the homeland of Pakistan are being highlighted.
Students from various schools participated in the ceremony, singing national songs, delivering speeches, and showcasing their artistic talents.
